Well, my fanfics have him having been chased out of town, but that's mostly because A: they follow redwolf03's fanfics and B: it works better for my stories. But handling it realistically, I can't really say for sure. He could have left on his own, or he could have been driven out.

He still hangs about Nome at first in thre fan-fics I've done. Kinda like a bum on the street. But he eventually leaves Nome to find a purpose for himself.

I don't think he left XD He only didn't appear in the movies after B1 cuz they're wise not to touch such an awesome character.

But I think he still lives in Nome (cuz the humans knew nothing about what he was doing. He was just a sled dog to them XD) but is merely scoffed at by everyone (like how the dogs treated him at the end of the movie) I also think he still has a few loyal fans left. But the "Steele haters" are mature about it and pretty much just ignore him, because whether they like it or not they don't run the town, so they can't chase him away or hold a trial against him or any of that stuff. I think Kodi would look up to Steele like his father, since Steele would still be a sled dog, but as for his other siblings, I think they'd despise him too.

Naturally, Nikki, Kaltag, and Star feel comfortable enough to let it be known what they really thought about him (Ex. "That son of a...", "He is the most malicious, the most disgusting, the most obnoxious, the most revolting, the most repulsive...", "He's no lap dog.") but still kind of fear him. And Dixie and Silvie would naturally "dispose" him XD

Even tho I think Steele would be bothered by everyone suddenly hating him, I think later on he wouldn't be bothered by it, because mainly they can't do anything about it, no matter what he does, and he'd use that to his advantage.

I think he stops chasing after Jenna (mainly because he's digging on Anna, a fan character XD) but he still tries to cut down on Balto, you know, the whole grudge-holding thing. But I think he'd still secretly want Jenna, due to former relations, or to just drive Balto insane.

I want to say more about what I think happened to him, but those ideas are for Ruskie Huskie Productions.

I think he might of left after a while for Anchorage but then be shunned there, so he'd have to return. Steele would cope with being hated - just. I think he'd still want to make Balto's life hell tho.

In my fanfic, it opens with Steele stuck in a pound in Fairbanks because Steele's owner gave him away, thinking it was past his prime. They did mention early in the movie that Steele was getting slower. So maybe after he screwed up the serum delivery, his owner screwed him and gave him away.

That's about what I've come up with. He's still in Nome, but locked away somewhere.

Well, my fanfic revolves mostly around Steele's son, Valo and his relationship with the rest of Balto's children. Also, Aleu gets alot of time in my fanfic. You should check it out, people!!!!!!!

My personal opinion, appearing in my upcoming fic, is that he was made a functional outcast by all those in town. And then he broke his leg and died in a snow storm. Collective guilt, individual innocence.

I'd always imagined he left, maybe the townsfolk found out about Steele abandoning the other dogs so they forced Steele and his owner to leave in disgrace? Thats the idea I like going for

Remember at the end of the race near the start of the movie, when his musher was questioning Steele's speed and stamina? "I dunno. You think maybe Steele's losing his edge?"

Perhaps after the events of Balto#1 he was kept around as a sled dog or was sold (After all, the humans had no idea what Steele was up to). But I think it's a safe bet that he didn't have too many friends or followers.

That makes sense. He was probably ignored by humans, hated by dogs, etc.

I don't really think he left like some of the others said. He just became less popular after Balto became lead dog. Now about the topic, I think he might be sorry. (Snuggles him.)
