have you seen the movie oliver and company? well i do theres 3 things i noticed in Balto and oac they're similar coz both Jenna and dodger wear bandannas and Aleu and oliver don't get picked from the litter both Rita and dusty are the only girls in the company and sled dog team and dodger is cool like kodi.

I beg to differentiate, Kodi was a loser LAWL He tried too hard at getting people to like him. Dodger didn't have to try, it's natural for him (well, mostly)

In some aspects, yes, but from what I've read about O&C (never seen it) they're completely different, plot-wise.

They are completely different as far as plot. O&C is based (very very loosely) on Dickens' Oliver Twist. WoC is...well, just an original sequel story. Like WQ. And everyone knows what the first Balto is based on.

I also agree with Cat that Kodi's level of coolness does not even approach Dodger's.

But, yes, I have noticed your other points of comparison--the similarity of Jenna's bandanna to Dodger's (and to Cash's from The Fox & the Hound 2), the fact that both Oliver and Aleu are left as the last ones of their litters unadopted from the box, and the fact that Rita and Dusty are both the lone female members of the gang/team. But THAT happens an awful lot--when there's a group of characters like that, the males usually outnumber the one or two females in it.

I love the movie Oliver and Company, and Rita is easily my favorite (feminine) character in all cartoon dog history :D But this is probably because of the lack of feminine dogs, which I find rather offending. Lets face it, movies like Balto and The Lion King are much more successful then the princess ones (or seem to be) because of the animals in them; and yet, they are usually all masculine, or have a very small number of girls. I don't have anything against guys at all, (being a girl I obviously don't anyways ) but they should make more of an effort to even out the characters' genders.

But back on topic. There are a couple of similarities, but nothing like the Lion King has on Kimba. 8)

IAWT.
I've seen a lot of comments about animated movies in general, stating that females tend to be overwhelmingly (and often unrealistically) outnumbered by males in the casts. The girls frequently stand out because there are only a handful of them. Hunh. It's interesting, makes me wonder why...

Plus Oliver and Company is a much older film. Like released to theaters in 1988 - and I actually remember seeing that (in theaters!). And Dodger is absitively posolutely cooler than Kodi :)
