Wow, it's been awhile since I've visited this place. So, I thought I'd mix things up by posting something relevant.
Let's say you're sitting in front of a television playing Balto in the atrium of a busy mall with groups of people walking by, sometimes stopping to watch along with you.
1) At which point of the movie would you feel most uncomfortable/embarrassed?
2) What would you do to avoid the awkward moment?
3) What would you do to the original movie with the intention to make it better?
=====================================================
1) I think the scene with Rosie bouncing up and down spastically upon seeing a new miniature sled (her gift) is not only embarrassing, it does little to strengthen the story.
2) I'd go buy a pretzel.
3) Yes, we need Rosie introduced somewhere in the beginning of the film, but I think minimal foreshadowing would be a lot more fitting. Maybe a cough, or two. The whole sled deal is just something that takes the movie off track for a few minutes.

The one with Jenna sitting on top of Balto. "It isn't what it looks like! This is a kid's movie!"
But really, I'd be embarassed to watch this movie in front of anyone. I'm afraid of being judged like that.

Errr why would you be embarressed? I mean fair enough if you think that it could do something bad for you if you think image means anything. Im 18, in uni and have nearly half my hair shaved off. To say the least a skinhead punk wouldnt be thought as someone who would watch this film but I do and if anyones got a problem with it, well we can take it outside But yeah you shouldnt be embaressed mate, anyone who see's me on this forum when im in the computer room asks what it is and I just say "Its a forum about a film called Balto" nuff said imo. If you just shrug your shoulders at anyone who thinks it might be funny they'll just just accept it, I'd hate to watch a film especially Balto and feel uncomfortable just because other people are around.

Lennox, if it weren't for my problem, the Rosie scene wouldn't seem embarassing at all. Rosie is one of the most believable children I've seen in an animated movie.
And Squival, believe me, I wish the problem would go away.

I cant help but feel embarrased because there arent many of us that do like Balto sadly but I always make it a point to not show any embarrasmenta at all and then tell em if they say anything to go f*** off.Control your emotions

I also have a sense of embarassment whenever I see the Rosie scene. I don't know why.

How is the Rosie scene embarassing? As insecure as I am about kid's movies and stuff, that scene is probably one of the parts I'd worry least about. It actually makes Rosie a very believable character.

What I do whenever the rosie scene comes on is I just squint and try to quell the tingling feeling of embarassment coarsing through my body. Has anybody ever had that tingling feeling whenever they are reminded of something they are embarassed about?

Has anybody ever had that tingling feeling whenever they are reminded of something they are embarassed about? I know what you're talking about. The pins and needles feeling, right? I usually get that when I'm deeply inspired or listening to some really good music. When I get embarrassed watching something, I look away from the screen and pretend I'm in La La Land playing with ponies which makes me feel even more embarrassed.

I don't feel embarrassed watching any of it. Balto is a mature film with no idiotic jokes.

That may be, but I think all of us know how shallow most people can be. As I said before I can't help but feel a little embarrased whenver I watch it because most people just don't understand. Apart from the people on this site I have met ONE person other than myself that likes wolves, let alone Balto. Oh, and, if you think it can't get all that bad, your wrong. I have had people tease me so much about it that I was about to fight them. Infact, if it wasn't for the music I listed to and my clothing style (metal head), I'd probably be picked on mercilessly.

But really, I'd be embarassed to watch this movie in front of anyone. I'm afraid of being judged like that. Don't worry; I'm the exact same way. I only see Balto a couple of times a year, because I don't want my parents to see me watching it, which is strange, since my dad knows I'm a member of BS I thought that the scene you spoke of was actually very cute; something similar actually happened in a Balto-related dream I had. Anyway, the most "embarassing" scene to me is when Rosie's first introduced. I don't know why, but her attitude there just weirds me out.
