Animation Source Forums

I'm truly saddened by the transition from "Balto Source" to "Animation Source". First, let me say that I have nothing against The Lion King. I watched both it and Balto at around the same age, though Balto came to grow on me much, much more.

But really, to all of the people who are here for The Lion King, why...? Compared to the Balto activity on this site, The Lion King is pretty minor. You can find more popular, and better Lion King fansites than one which was thrown in as an afterthought (no offense steet)! Those of us who enjoyed a Balto-dedicated fansite no longer have anywhere to turn!

Let's say there's two supermarkets near you. One of them has aisles and aisles of juice, while the other one has aisles and aisles of soda. You feel like having juice, and the one that has juice is right next to your house. Are you going to drive all the way into town to the one that specializes in soda? So why go to a place that's dedicated to a Universal film to discuss a Disney film, when there are so many other places that offer as much as this and more? Would you demand that the soda store start stocking more juice? Same case here. Don't like what they offer, find a new place, or else those who enjoy their soda selection will have nowhere to turn.

I'm not trying to be mean, not trying to be hateful, and not trying to generalize, honestly and sincerely. Please try and understand me. It was great to find a place that was dedicated mainly to my favorite movie. No, there's nowhere. It's almost like having a rich company tear down a city landmark to make way for a shopping mall!

I guess I've got a lot in common with Niju... change is can be pretty rough for someone who grows attached to things.

I dunno...I quite like it.

I do like Balto more than I like LK, I'll admit that I used to like LK more aswell, I guess I just got a bit bored of it but Animation source does kinda fit too.

It's still primarily Balto and Lion King but have you seen how many requests there are for other movie sources in suggestions? 0.0 This way Steet doesn't have to re-explain every time that it's not quite as simple as clicking a few buttons and viola! a new site is there, now it fits here more easily.

And I do feel kinda bad for the LK fans, when I first joined I went on both BS and LKS but nothing ever happened on LKS so I stopped going there as much, even my LKS fan-art gallery is seldom updated now so at least they won't feel as "left-out" anymore either.

I think that it's great that steet has done more for The Lion King (It was high time that it needed some more boards). But don't worry Beta, I think that whatever happens to the site, I think that the heart of it will always be Balto.

Did I remove anything concerning Balto? No, the same sections are still there at the same place, I've only added some sections for TLK.
Did I mix up the two? Well, it's basically the same board for the two, but the sections are separate.
What I see there is an "egoistical" point of vue, that you don't want more Lion king fans to go there. I'm sad to see some of you reacting this way.


Well do you really think that I made LKS without wanting it to become popular? In fact I expected it to become even more popular than BS at the time, and I'm now seeing some of the reasons why it hasn't. But I WANT it to become more popular. Just as much as BS, which I still think could also become more popular.
And the site is still dedicated to Balto only, as far as I know...

Steet, I can clearly see the reasons, BUT one of the reasons I was against it is because there are already way too many sections on the forums... Why can't you make use of the sub-section options?

To be honest, I joined Source because TLK section. I got interested in Balto after that and because this site was twin-focused.
I don’t know what is site average situation, but my ffic readers are mostly both TLK/B fans.

Well if you can suggest a better distribution or division of the sections, I would be happy to hear it. I didn't have the time to really think about how to do it since the version of phpBB allows it.

This is the main reason: Balto is no longer the main focus. It's Balto and The Lion King. Next, it's going to be Balto, TLK, and ADGTH Source forums. Next, Balto, TLK, ADGTH, and Aladdin Source forums. Soon, everyone's going to join for the other forums, and Balto will could be forgotten.

If You do, I could assure You, I will stick with Balto ffics, as my priority (on par with TLK stories).

What are you talking about? How am I like Steele, and what does Balto being a true story have to do with anything?

Tell me, why in the heck should Balto fans not have their own fan forums? We don't have the right to our own fansite, while you Lion King fans have so many which are even bigger than this? That is what's not right here. I see no way in which that's fair! Balto deserves its own place, and so do its fans!
