I agree. I think it's fine to revive a month old topic with a relevant post. If it's an art contest that was started a year ago - then that's when it's a bit pointless.

Exactly and it also saves people from remaking a topic that was made a couple of months ago. This would save alot of room on the boards.
Nice thinking.

You have a point. It's pretty stupid complaining about bringing up old topics on the one hand, and condemning people to start new ones about the same subject. As a matter of fact, only the first one is even allowed. So next time someone complains about raising the dead topic, just say 'Dude, only following the rules'.

I agree-why shouldn't we bring up old topics?

Most forums I come from frown upon reviving topics, so naturally I do too unless it's only by a week or a month or something. But over a month or two is just sillies.

I have also been thinking this recently.

There used to be loads of interesting topics, and people bring them up, but end up getting flamed for it, as you said, and usually the topic is locked. In the Balto sections there are simple-to-answer questions, like 'What breed is Dusty?' etc. nowadays...nothing really interesting anymore. And it is obvious when someone brings up an ancient topic with something like 'i agree!!!1' etc. xD

I totally agree with you, Outlaw. I aways get flamed by bringing up new topics.. but I hoeneslty don't know why the mods make such a "big" deal about it.
