I know this is simular to Drew's topic but, here are some pictures of real wolves.
These may be used as refrence.

Nice! Are these pictures of live wolves, or were they taxidermied ones on display?

Looks like stuffed ones, they're in the same pose in both of the full-body photos.

That's what I thought, in which case I'm pretty sure the taxidermist goofed.

I think they are. i found these on the net.

i think its real as the nose looks moist and the first pic has its toung out more than the last 1

I think the ears just look that way because of the angle of the shot.

I'm pretty sure those are taxidermy models. If you look just a tiny bit closer you'll see that those aren't of the same wolf. The markings on the top picture are different to the ones in the bottom 2 picture, the tongue is out further (as jodi-lion saw) and the poses are slightly different, check the leg positions especially the front ones and the ears are in a different position too. Taxidermists use a lacquer type thing that makes noses and tongues look moist/wet.

Good find though, I'm sure it'll be useful for many artists here.

Yeah, I figured it was taxidermy. A little-known thing about wolves is that when they walk they usually have their tails straight out. If a canine has its tail down when it's moving, it's either in a bad mood or it's a coyote.
