Well my title really didn't give away anything about this rant but this rant is about people coming on here and stated some VERY rude opinions about Goths and Wiccans.

I don't mind people saying something like, " Goths are sorta weird but... They're okay." Or, " I don't really like Wiccans but sometimes they're cool."

But what I hate is where they accuse Wiccans of working for the devil -_- Listen we don't work for the devil and let go of all of those fiction books you've read. They're completely normal people just like you. They're gods are the gods of NATURE! Does that sound like something the devil likes?

And they also accuse Goths of being Wiccans or just being pure mean and calling them stupid. I have MANY goth friends on here and they're completely normal people, Just like you.

Sorry that this was so short ^_^''

Short, sweet, to the point, and it says it all! *thumbs up*
I start boiling, seriously, when I hear people without even a clue as to what they really are, disrespecting Wiccans. A peaceful, nature-loving religion that's never persecuted anyone else or preached any kind of utter nonsense? How dare anyone talk it down!

I think where most people get the working for the devil part is (correct me if I'm wrong) from the symbol of Wiccans? It represents evil or something like that? Again, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not trying to offend anyone.

Actually the devil part comes from the olden days such as the Salem Witch Trails. And I've heard too many meanings for the symbol but I know that's not true.

I think the symbol you mean is the pentacle/pentagram.

I agree strongly with this.

There was someone (not bashing) who started a "Goth Club," allowing posers to join. What does that leave the real Goths with? Stereotypes based on that club, right?

We got to talking one day in the shout boxes, about what "clique" we are in. Or what "style" we are. I said "Goth," and predictably someone sent me a PM on MSN asking "Do you worship Satan?"

Made me laugh, but I felt insulted. I'm something called a "light" Goth. In other words, I'm "Goth" but I don't look it 24/7.

Personally, I felt offended by this "club," and how the 'starter' of it would allow posers to join so they can simply have more members.

You have my support in this rant. ;D

I'm 50/50 on this one. Yes, I can see being called that is mean and everything. I personally couldnt care less if someone is goth or not, or wiccan or not.

I typically wont say anything about it, one of those "Dont ask, dont tell" things...its when the so-called "spells" and crap are used, that I have a problem with. There was someone on the rp box running around going "You wanna know the spell from my spell book to kill someone? =D" I do not know their religion, or if the person was playing around...but it bothered me. They DO NOT work, why ask if someone wants to use them? T.T Then the person tried to play mind games with me, "Your dog is going to die in 30 days from my spell!"...At that point, I just pretty much left. I regret to inform you, but they dont work. *shrugs* Just dont be using "spells" and crap around me...

Those are the insane people wanting to Mock Wiccans. Those type of "wiccans" are what I like to call Chain Letter Wiccans =O

Technically discussing Wicca isn't allowed on this site because it's an esteblished religion. That aside, my religion (which anyone who wants to know can find in my profile) is diametrically opposed to Wicca on several points, so I really don't have much claim to objectivity here. Also, I freely admit to having a knowledge of Goth culture that is limited at best. But I will say this: I do not hate Wiccans or think that they are (disproportionately) evil on purpose. I do, however, consider it highly possible that the Devil, a well-known master of disguise, may be duping them.

I don't "think" you started it, I don't know who and I don't really care. What gets me, is I saw "even people who aren't goth can join" (somthing in those lines). This means, by the title of "Goth Club," and people who aren't Gothic at all, it allows posers to join.

If I wanted to bash it, I would have had a much longer post. Keep this in mind, people. That if I'm upset by something, you will know. I posted that I felt offended by the club, I'm not motioning to end it. I don't hate the people in it.

Oh, yes. Everyone has it bad. It never bothered me at first, but I'm now also starting to get peeved at people who do the same for homosexuals. Not getting into any details here, it's not like some people can control who they are. It's just a part of them.

...I can see you all making your own judgements about me already. XDDD

Judging homosexuals is actually worse that 'judging' goths &the likes. If you choose to dress in poor taste and become a goth, then people can condemn you for making, what they think is, a bad choice. If people condemn others for being a homosexual, on the other hand, they attack them for what they are rather than for what they chose, which is morally wrong.

Bottom line: bashing goths = not nice, but acceptable
bashing homosexuals = not nice ánd not acceptable (and illegal)

ps: I am aware there is more to being a goth than the outfit (which I still think is often in poor taste  )

Precisely, Cogator. But borrect me if I'm wrong, anyone... my guess is that goths choose to dress the way they do as a means of expression -- like how anyone should dress for. Unless they want to change, despite what a goth person wears, (s)he'll still be a goth person...wow, I used that word a lot. XD But yeah...Sexual preference is something you simply can't control, and there are people who feel terrible about it... A personality, on the other hand, is something that's a little more temporary.

You appear to be the victim of misleading media, Cogitor. Homosexuals may be effected by outside factors (in fact it has been proven time and time again that homosexuality is primarily caused by environmental factors while a person is growing) but homosexuals ultimately choose to do what they do. Moreover, sexual preferences are known to change during a person's lifetime. Just ask Alan C (he gives his full name freely but I shall not do so publicly as a precaution). He used to be involved in the homosexual, escaped that lifestyle (and escaped is how he regards it), is happily married, and has devoted his life to convincing others not to live the way he used to. He's not the only one either. Many people now happily married are ex-gays or ex-lesbians, and they stopped being that way by choice. If you want more info, I can send it to you.
