I could write a page long post of different formulations of the same question, so I will not. But here goes.
I've seen a lot of people hates Alue, and I've also seen some people don't. I am one of those people who like her. Anyway; I want to ask all you Alue-haters out there: Why do you hate Alue?
Surely, such a topic has already been made, but being as curious I am, I can't help myself. So, I've been thinking, and I think that this hatred for the character is created out of a "follow the wave/crowd"-effect of the community. To make a short post long, I'll state my thoughts about it.
When the movie first came out, it didn't gets its popularity which it deserved, although Balto became quite a success anyway, cashing in a considerable aumont of money. Then, the animators of Universal studios decided to make a Balto sequel, which didn't cash in as much money, but still managed to keep that feel of Balto in it. So, we Balto-fans were a little disappointed, but it was a good move nonetheless. Now, let's summarize some facts about a community; 1. A community is the generalized name of every humane individual in an area, i.e BaltoSource. 2. Human opinions are changed in a community. 3. A community creates a small need of being "popular", thus creating the "follow the wave"-effect.
So, let's say that, BaltoSource was created around the release of Balto (this is an example, and is, of course, not true, as BaltoSource was created after the 2000nd year shift), and all the Balto fans gathered here and discussed the movie. Then, the sequel came out, and stirred a few popular members' opinions, whom did not like one of the characters (in this relation; Alue), and they began posting about it on the forums. After a while, these "popularities" (sarcasm intended) started to influence people who liked them, and they slowly began to change their opinions, to "fit in" better (in the lack of a better term). And the people who liked the "popularities"'s 'friends' began to change their opinions as well, to fit in better. Thus an evil circle is created, and slowly, but surely, devours more and more members, until everyone starts hating that named character.
In short; I think this hatred for Alue is nothing more than something a "celebrity" on BaltoSource (I won't give out names, but I have my suspicions of who *glares* ) created, and it evolved. For example the Kodi x Kirby stuff that we also had problems with earlier (mentioned with danger of my own life).
My conclusion is therefore: This hatred of Alue is "fake", "inherited" by a "celebrity"'s opinions about her.
To end my post, I would like to state that There are no celebrities on this site, and people who thinks they're popular are often not. So, this hatred is meaningless, and I doubt even 70% of the Alue-haters were ones to begin with.
Also, this might or might not be posted in the wrong section, it might have been created before or not, I don't really care. I just wanted to get this off my chest.
And the statements above are nothing but my opinions, so stay off the flaming train ^^

Well, I agree with ya, I'm no hater. But I can't understand why they would, odd isn't it?

I can understand why some people do hate Aleu. But I agree, I think most 'Aleu-haters' are just following some sort of 'cult,' that was started by a popular member. Yes, Aleu is arrogant and has a squeaky voice and that can be enough to drive anyone mad. But apart from that, what really is so wrong with her anyway?
I think the same could be applied to Wolf Quest in general. I'm not forcing anyone to like it, and I'm not saying that it's greatest film ever made (because it's not). But I see people here who loved it when they first came here, and now they are dedicated haters. And I think it's because they are following some sort of trend.
There's nothing 'uncool' about liking Aleu and/or Wolf Quest. But if you hate them regardless of what others say, that's absolutely fine. Just remember, you could be watching Cinderella II.
(And this is coming from someone who thought Cat's Balto 2 parody was hillarious.)

Personally I think all these follow-the-wave Aleu haters should do something better with their own time. I'm an Aleu hater - and I always have been - but that doesn't give others the right to change their opinions just because hating Aleu seems to be 'popular'. Heck, it's like all those Kiona clones - people just do it because it's 'popular'.

Well, also, if someone makes a good point about something you thought one thing about and then thought something different about, doesn't always mean they're following a trend either. Some could be Aleu lovers one minute then be like "Hmm, this person DOES make a good point." (and in some cases on top of that, they listen to her voice long enough *gag*) and in time change their opinion and become an Aleu hater. Some cases, also starting off as Aleu lovers, include just being downright fed up with fan shipping, and hate it so much they convert. It happens. Some cases also include people starting off as Aleu haters and then somehow convert to being Aleu lovers because they somehow see the goodness within the character (I.E. they probably watched Lion King 2 and liked Kiara or something) Does that really mean that loving Aleu is popular? It depends cuz hating Aleu is just as widely experienced. (I say about the hatred/love for Aleu is divided pretty darn equally, which shouldn't possibly be a problem.) Now, I'm not saying people DON'T like a certain something just to be popular, it happens all the time, and in real life, and its something we can't control, no matter how much we lecture on it. Besides, I say no matter how stupid the reason is, people can believe and like or hate whatever they want. Oh and if you actually want to know why people hate Aleu instead of trying to convince people they're hating something for "no reason" here's the topic related to this. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7214 I wouldn't talk about why you like Aleu in that topic either because it is asking why people hate her. Not like her. Just thought I'd save you the spam. ;D

2.See reason number 1. What's the point in the second reason? Anyway... I personally can't understand why anyone would have an immense hatred for any character. So much that they "want to kill them". I mean, it's not like they're real. It's not like said character chooses to be a certain way. It's a clump of pixels xD Hate the animators or voice actors, if you will. I can understand that some may find a certain character annoying, however. I found Stella annoying, and Muk, Luk and Boris in WoC annoying. Just my opinion.

Some people just take Aleu too seriously. Come on, she's just a moving drawing. She's not real, and she won't come and eat you when you're asleep.

Well, people have a right to hate even if it is an animated character!

Well, they mean kill her off in the series, and they have a reason to, although going on over the tiny details is going a bit far, yeah. I mean, it's fine going 'slow and painful deathhXD' but going on about how in every detail... inappropraite.

Some people madly love her, and some people are the complete opposite. Why does the complete opposite seem so wrong? We hate her, you love her. Yes, some people kill her off...and? Maybe they want to entertain Aleu-haters. People who make her mate and have a family etc. want to entertain Aleu-lovers. But she won't actually be killed off in the films, so let the haters have their fun XD - Rebel
