This is something that I have noticed, and will help.
Of course, we mods have our "mod box" to space things out on. However, some mods (*me*, being one of them) will be gone for a couple of days. Scrolling through the Previous Messages can get a little blah, and we soon won't do it a'tall (-at all-).
What I have noticed is a Forum Category for different mods (shout box, arts, images, videos) that all of the staff can view will be a lot easier. Some reasons why:
1.) It will be easier to "scroll" through, because there will be Topic Discussions for each "problem" that the mods encounter. Given, we won't post "Fan --- Updated" like we do in the mod box.
2.) A bit more organization; it won't be as confusing. Like, in the mod's box, I have to memorize what mod is what to know what it is their talking about.
3.) It gives a "central axis" for the mods to talk with one another about "issues" on the site. Example: Ban lengths, offenses, etc. Simple as that --- where we can talk with one another, even when the other(s) isn't/aren't online at the time.
As with most of my suggestions, I'm currently partial to this idea. How the "big man" will take it, I don't know. Just voicing a suggestion. For; on all of my "simple" forums I have a staff area that helps me a ton.
So. . .
Who will get to view the Category? The Boards? All of the mods. That way, all mods can "express" with different "mod category" issues, etc.
What's the point? A bit more organization, and a better place than the mod's box to discuss things. Also, it allows announcements, which steet can make better than the box for mods. This also allows space for the "weekend gone mods" to catch up on things in a much easier manner. For more "points," just read everything atop.
So, express yourselves. Mods, Steet, and members the like. What do you think?

Oh yeah...ask anyone. Part of what makes this job so frustrating is that you ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have to be careful what you say; you might just end up feeding the flames. Of course, we have to have our neutral perspectives when handling a problem, but that still doesn't nullify the personal thoughts we might be having, and need to get out. Actually, I've seen this concept before, in Maya's site, Balto's Treasure. See that there's a VIP Board and a Mods Box that only certain people can SEE (most important) and only certain people can POST IN. That would mean steet would have to take advantage of the "grouping" system on the forums, so only the mods can know what goes on in there...I know, I hate to sound so exclusive...makes me feel like a jerk. But still...Drew, me, and a couple other mods were discussing a need for something like this on that one night... Of anything, I certainly find that scrolling through PMs to be a bit tedious. At least now, someone can just copy, paste, and post the meat of the conversation, we we'll all know what's going on rather quickly.

Definitely would be handy, I may not be a mod but I know many forums that have one and I'm surprised we don't yet.

I like the idea, the only problem is that there's no way to "automatize" this, and I want to avoid all manual things to administrate the site. Let me explain.
I didn't make the forums, it uses its own system and is always evolving. That's why I try to make as less modifications as possible, although it's sometimes necessary. The moderators system on the site is entirely different from the moderation system on the forums. So, the only way to get this to work is to MANUALLY add all the site mods in a group on the forums, which would be the only ones able to see that section (although not all of them are forum moderators) So, let's say that I agree with this, but I wouldn't do it myself, so I would need to delegate that function (updating the mods list on the forums) to someone else.

Well, I can see the problem.
Would you mind if I made a "ProBoards" for all of the mods, and only mods got this link? As well, each board will have a "password" that only the BS mods will get. Would you accept that?

Well in that case I could just add a password to the current mod section, and make it visible to everyone, but that wouldn't solve the problem : I would have to give the password to each mod. And it's much less secure. So I'm sticking to the first idea.

Togo wrote: As far as I remember you automized the "staff" page on the site, and mods are automatically displayed in green on the shout boxes. I don't know how the code works, but is it possible to add a page on the site which is only visible for the mods, and use it instead of a forum section (more or less like the "mods area" that I suggested a few days ago in the mods box)? The same system of the mods box, but with a "forum" instead of a chat. That sounds like a really good idea; and you suggested it? O_O' Wow, I didn't see that. See how the "Previous Messages" can cause a woe? XB

Of course I thought about this, the only thing is that I don't want to spend time programming a "forum-like" section specifically for this when there's already a forum... But maybe something like the questions section, then. Simple, but maybe enough.
