I was recently watching WQ and WoC, and I noticed something: In WQ Aleu Calls Balto ‘Papa’, but in WoC Kody calls him ‘Dad’.
I thought when I saw WQ that Papa was probably the name used by most kids to address their dad in that place and time.
I thought it was strange that they called him by different names even though the were litter mates
What do you think?

O.o And why would age make a difference? Anyway, I didn't notice that. Interesting... did Aleu address her mother at all, apart from as "Jenna"? Because Kodi called her mum... possibly had something to do with the fact that WoC was made later.

In my opinion, calling your parents "Mom" and "Dad", signify a closer relationship. I also believe that Kodi had a stronger relationship with his parents, so naturally for me, him calling Jenna and Balto "Mom" and "Dad" and Aleu calling Jenna "Mother" made it seem like she didn't have as good of a relationship between Jenna and herself.

"Pa" is what I call my grandpa, therefore I consider it short for grandpa, but meh.

I believe Aleu did call Jenna "Mom" at the very end of the movie, which isn't necessarily equivalent to the name "Papa" (it would have been Mama or something like it) But I think age does play a factor. B3 apparently took place after B2, so Kodi would have been older. As kids grow older they do mature from calling their parents "Daddy" and "Mommy" to "Dad" and "Mom" so maybe it works the same way with "Papa"/"Mama" and "Dad"/"Mom." It may also be Kodi's "image" he wants to uphold, since he wants to be accepted by "the cool kids" so calling his parents by a more "mature" name would make him seem "cooler." So those could also be a factor.

Technically, the name "papa" is developed from Spanish or Castillian languages, this is since in Spanish "papa" means "Padre" (translation to English: Dad). It is used in the English-Spanish language, not creole, but a language called Spanglish (Spanish-English).
Well, it may or may not also be used in BgB (British English), though the board is on that language, I hate that English type. Erggghhhh. British English! I hate it.
