There should, if possible. But yeah, Balto is probably something Kevin Bacon's not too proud of.

It depends on the kind of guy he is most of all. Getting into contact with a star is actually the easy bit since it can be done through agents etc. The Hard part is judging what kind of bloke he might be, KB is a tricky one to judge since he doesn't tend to reveal much about himself in his work or on the very select few of interviews he's done. It's only the solid facts that are known like his DOB, filmography and Six degress. All this must mean he's a very private man who doesn't like to talk about him or the work he's done, he just lets his work speak for itself.

To my mind, it would be much more interesting to hear from the people who produced it (I don't know, Simon wells for example), rather than the voice actors.
If anyone find any way to contact them, just tell me...

Kevin Bacon is actually a little embarrassed about the children's movies he did, he spoke about it in an interview once. He rather likes the more 'adult' theme films he has worked on. So that is probably why there never was one.

On the Dvd documentary for region 2 Simon Wells and steven Spealberg sate that they are very proud of Balto as a film, even if it wasn't what you would call a sucess at the box office.

One of the reasons that Balto wasn't a box office sucsess was the releasment. It was releasd at the same time as Toy Story. Talk about compotition! Had it been released at a different time, it would have been more famaus.

Another reason why it didn't do well was because of TLK, it was a tough act to follow. Every animated film in the 90's (excluding CG) was always comparred to TLK in terms of greatness, which is a very silly thing to do.

I'm not surprised that he's embarrassed by it. He's not done a single bit of voice acting before or after Balto, and critics told him that he did a mediocre job. I think his name was only used in hopes to bring in more tickets. He probably agreed to it because he didn't do an animated film before and thought about trying something new for a change. But due to inexperience and average directing, he came up flat sounding. That's probably why he's not too proud of it. I remember my first voice acting for a puppet show at my church, I was very monotone and boring. Kevin can act in front of people but in front of a microphone, you need a very vivid imagination.

Kevin is too serious of a person. Usually the best voice actors are quirky and creative with their voice. Do you honestly know people who sound exactly like Star? Course not. Star's voice is stylized. Kaltag's voice is stylized. Nikki's voice is not as stylized but unique. Even Steele's voice is stylized. Balto's voice isn't. It was Kevin Bacon going up to the microphone and saying his lines with his normal speaking voice, which is very uncolorful in the voice acting world.

I've seen Kevin Bacon movies on TV and compared the voices to Balto, and it sounds almost nothing alike. His acting in movies is significantly more vivid. It's like he's a different person in front of a camera than he is in front of a microphone. Even his character on Apollo 13, which was done in the same time period, sounds nothing like Balto.

IMO, even if his voice acting was kind of "flat", I've grown accustomed to it, like everyone else here. It's not as if was bad though, right? It was just slightly less than it could have been.

Still though, he should've put more effort into voice acting. He could've gotten quite good at it if he'd kept at it.
