After a small leave I am going to pick up writing again for the site and this is what I have been workin on for the past few days so here you go a preview of my up coming fic the last part is the theme of the story of it's self so enjoy!
Love Doesn't Win. A smaller sized tan female husky sleeps close to tall pine tree chained by the collar, a soft breeze shifts the pine softly knocking some needles down. The husky's ears sway in the wind. The falling of the needles landed on the husky making hardly any noise, but enough to get the husky to wake slightly. The husky's yellow eyes slightly opened, her body was well fit and healthy. She raised her head, not really pleased with the morning she had just seen. With taking a silent breath she glanced over at small house.
The house was worn down the lights where on it didn't give off much light the snow hadn't melted all the way. The back door was a screen door with a wooden door behind it. With one window to the left of the door, it had no screen it was a push up and down window the wood needed painting being chipped off in most places. The husky sighed seeing the sight, she could her fighting owners yelling at each other with harsh words she didn't use herself very much. Unless she was upset at someone which happened often to her. She wouldn't say she lived the happiest life but a good one.
She paused in thought before standing up right; she pulled herself out keenly her back needed to be pulled out. She could hear some popping though out her back. She hadn't been active lately. Her owner chained her to the tree. She turned seeing the chain leading to metal stake in the ground. She groaned at the sight at it, it took her freedom from her.
She turned her head suddenly as she heard a loud bang it was towards the house. An older teen burst out from the house, clearly upset her hair was black she wore a light jacket made of animal fur her eyes green tan leggings, an older man slightly chased her yelling at her, "There you go always going to that not loyal dog of yours! You feed her better then you do yourself!"
The teen ignored her quickly reaching her dog and sitting next to her, the husky tilted her head at her, not fully understanding the yelling she could hear as she woke up from her sleep. The teen glanced over at the husky, raising her hand to pet her head. "Your so lucky your a dog you know that?"
The husky moved toward her lick her face cheering up slightly though she knew it wouldn't do much at all. The teen pushed her head away the husky slightly groaned but understood, "I really wish I was you, I could just run away all time like you do, I understand why, at least you always come back at night...I really wish I could do that." The teen sighed put a hand on the husky's neck and unchained her, setting her free, "Go have your fun just come back at night when uncle is asleep but don't be too loud when he is more drunk he'll kick like before so be quiet." she finished by itching the dog's ear several times.
The husky stayed where she was, she had thought she had a slave right to be with her while she was outside, "Just go you have fun that, the way your fun, for the most part." The husky paused before trotting off. Seeming to understand her words which she somewhat did and didn't.
The husky made quick of her time she traveled somewhat fast, but she had always been slower then most huskies. In part made her feel sorry for herself; she was good health but slow, but in part or in trade she was fair and beautiful for a mutt husky. Which gave her less and more respect in the run down town she lived in or the bad side she didn't travel too far from home. Beauty in trade gave higher respect but other in hand less respect and more stronger or gang dogs would want her innocence which she was saving if she could. For a stronger figure that would give her some advantages of respect for a small while before she’d dumped, probably when she became pregnant. She thought of it often in the society she lived in and prepared for anything that she could think of. Though she knew that thinking of something would be nothing like the real thing.
The breeze made her pause she liked feeling the wind blowing her fur around, the wind wasn't very strong though, it half disappointed her though it always made her smile, strong wind was rare and enjoyable. The average wind normally wasn't as strong as she wished it to be. She turned her head to look though an alley, she scanned it with her eyes looking side-to-side looking for any movement. After nothing but a few moments of some soft breezes and deafening sounds she moved on. She well knew most of the strays that mostly where at the alleys.
She paused, I mainly only know strays for the most part I guess in turn makes me happier to have a home...or is that I hang out with strays for pride part of having a home...though I wouldn't want anyone knowing my home the only reason I go back is for her...I still think of leaving her though..
She was surprised when she herself walking lost in thought, "Ah...I need break that habit...it might pass on to the next generation..." "Yo..." a tired voice spoke behind her it was obviously a female voice. She smiled she could tell it was Newt.
She turned head behind her without bothering to turn around, "Hey Newt, not sleep well last night?"
"I never do.... you already now that." Her friend yawned blinking her eyes to wake herself better. "How. How are you up and about today your really early for the normal...why?" She smiled, "I just got out earlier that's all Newt...much earlier." She and her friend laughed, she knew it was midday when she left normally.
Her friend gave her a tired look she looked how she felt but she noticed something that woke her up. "Hey Scarlet? Is that some kind of scar? A-around your neck?" She looked slightly shocked, she well noticed the chain was often too tight and hurt but it left a mark? "Um I slept funny that's all.. I got my collar stuck on something that's all, when I slept of course."
She gave her a look, “I…you can't be careful eh Scarlet? When you have home it's just as bad as having no home at all so safety in this run down town, well on this side anyway, the rich ******* and bitches have the good life."
"Well I guess I'm one of those-" her friend quickly cut her off. "NO! no, no, no...Your one of us you live on the poor side though you do have a home understand and don't put us down or give us the stray kick or look. Sorry! Sorry! Sorry..." her friend laughed during her last sentience. "Uh...Well where have you been lately Scar? I haven't seen you in the last week or so? Where did you run off to?"
Scarlet paused, she didn't want her to know she was chained up for a week with it too tight and that was the cause of the 'scar' she couldn't see or feel for the matter. "Just had fun with my owner that's all need to stay for a bit sometimes so I don't end up a stray no offence is meant Newt." She finished with tilting her head to the side slightly. Newt slightly put her head down, "None taken. I ran away." She replied simply to her. Scarlet gave her a look, she had heard her say that same phrase a thousand times all said in the same way. "Can't help it Scar get used to it. But then you never will."
"Well. Put." She slowly spoke spitting slightly at her; she was always short tempered with strays so she would get their respect even with her friend Newt. She changed the subject, "Well in the week I was gone slash having fun, what happened to STs?" Newt sighed annoyed, "What they always do fight and lose, win, and all that stuff several new guys meaning two in that week one is a great fighter but is a stub and uh..." She dragged the word.
"Disrespectful to others?" She finished for her friend, after a while of "uhhhhhhh" "Tough and mean...is the words I was looking for Scar-let" She added in to her sentence. "But he is good looking but kinda have to be a ***** to be around him with out him getting annoyed for a females point stand." She finished tilting her head towards her friend, "Your department that's for sure."
"Shut up! I only act that way around 'cute' fellows and I am looking for someone who doesn't care about what I look like or who wants my innocence!" Newt smiled at her approvingly, "Thinking like full grown now eh? Keeping most dogs around her tail of yours and you know how to get anyone to do anything and yet not doing a full blown deal your some tough ******!"
"No wonder they call you wise bitch, your smart but say things to others rudely." She twitched an ear towards her stopping her tilted head towards her back to normal she did as if ear told her.
"Charm, charm gets away with everything ha, ha, ha, ha." Newt started to sing softly with smile.
"Get out of ears reach before break some glass girl!" She laughed pushing her friend with her shoulder.
"Already I will, don't need to bite, just push geeze Scarlet think of fighting at all?" her friend uttered.
She smiled proudly, "First off...others do my fighting for me, the lesser minds, I will always believe that females have better brains then males so that why we can make them do anything, and I need to stay fit and fairly strong to be healthy...and good looking." "Ooooohh You paused!" Her friend shouted with an awed smile, "Thinking of using the word sexy now? Your growin' up! You wanted to say that didn't you but trying to be a bit more modest around me eh? So you're saving it for act? Or practicing to say it right on your own I can help Scarlet."
"Ah ha uh ha!" She laughed obviously faking it, "I'll think about it!" She spoke rather harshly embarrassed. She looked away slowly from the smart girl look from her friend. "Alright Scarlet think about it. I just been though every step that word leads off to, so just look to me if you want to anything." She became defensive of herself, "Well.... Well how would you know Newt?!" She spoke rather angered.
"Scarlet. My dear, I simply lived longer then you. You’re about now, now turning 2. I'm 5 ran away at the age of 1 year been around every block of the clock, end of story." Newt smiled proud of herself.
"Fine!" She turned around incredibly embarrassed of the subject. I don't personally think that's something to be proud of Newt!
Newt was seemingly proud of embarrassing her friend, "You'll come around eventually." ***** it Newt. She sighed with annoyance turning her head to the side looking up at building rather worn down one it needed painting, and the windows needed to be cleaned the prints and it was clearly a gray fog around it. There has to be a better place to live besides this... Newt turned her head to what her friend turned to, "hmm nice building eh worth staring at for hours admiring its beautiful grace?"
"Shut up the hell up Newt. It's better looking then your face" Scarlet replied with out looking at her friend.
"Sure miss cleaned every day." Newt smiled starting to walk away from her friend. "Bitch." Scarlet finished after her ending the conversation she turned her head watching Newt wandering off someplace. She heard her friend reply to her last words, "It's in my name after all."
She shook her head, "My goodness Newt." she looked at her friend wonder out of sight when she turned down an alley. She took a whiff of air before continuing on. She noticed the warm days were reaching their peek for the time of year.
"It hasn't been as windy lately its making me depressed." She said to herself softly she walked down the dirt street, counting the steps she was taking, keeping her minded occupied with something to do. She stopped looking down at an alley the one she liked best it was also where ST hung out as well. My past time...
She walked it there were several taller boxes and barrels where'd the gang would sit and lay on. "There not really a gang ST. Strongest Thugs. Males don't make sense to me why do they call themselves a gang when their thugs?" She sighed she'd need to wait for the gang members to show up by the third ring, which she learned was something called 12:00 by human and owned dogs. She paused looking to her left and right with no one in sight, she turned behind a barrel resting her back against it, she gave a small laugh, "The late ***** gets their first that's otta piss someone off."
She lifted her gaze staring at the small strip of sky visible between the buildings. Watching the clouds moving across the sky like broken ice on water. They reflected in her yellow eyes like a weak mirror.
“Why is the saying ‘your head is in the clouds’ a saying? Does refer to a mist? A blindness? Is it you can’t see in a cloud, or did come from those who have gone through them?”
She sighed to herself admiring a cloud very much like a large t-bone steak, “Perhaps the saying is like the hidden wolves in the mountains where the clouds and land meet? Or about a dog that has been their, wondering at mountain peeks where it freezes and strong winds blow…admiring it all.” A small breeze ran through the alley made Scarlet found herself leaning into it tossing her groomed fur side to side, she sighed to herself, “But I hear the wind chills to your soul or bone how ever the saying goes.”
She stretched and cast a more serious eye back to the clouds, “Or does it mean you’re trying to be wise in a foolish way, or you’re just a fool yourself? Could it be that it means, that you’re actually really light-headed, and don’t think so well? Such a saying about someone’s knowledge and the beauty of the clouds. How could the clouds symbolize stupidity? Foolishness? Or a dream that can never be reached since it’s so high above us all?”
She found it hard to believe that while lazy heaps looking above her could mean so much especially so much negativity. “They say be better if it were your heads in the stars? The star is something that everyone loves and wants to see. Stars can symbolize the heavens themselves.
She gave herself a forced laugh, “I wonder if that’s really saying, it sounds like it’s said by the wise.” Her gaze went heavenward again, sobering immediately. “But if your head is the clouds, would you look down at the world from up there clearly seeing it for what it really is? Or is it view priceless to someone? Does the saying mean that you see beauty or something worth going to, you see something worth getting done as long as you look up or down? Or do the clouds symbolize heaven, and you’re seeing thoughts that are impossible to visualize in this world?”
She sighed “And thus I continue to speak of things that are of no use to me, but in dreams…and dreams speak of nonsense, I speak of dreams. Your head is in the clouds Scarlet.
She sighed with some sorrow, “In the clouds.” She closed her eyes and turned her head back toward the ground, hanging it in the air. Opening here eyes again she whispered softly, “And thus those who’s heads are in the clouds crash back down ending up underground.”
