Well I watch Scary Saturday Night sleep over on a channel and Well I saw a episode about werewolves. In olden times people ate bread that was said to be infected. These people could develope a disease and would start acting more dog like. At least that was one of their theories for it.

This decease called, Lycothopia or something like that makes people act like wolves/dogs/werewolves. In some cases they won't speak English or they'll walk on all furs and growl and snarl at people when they're angry. Like before, They think this was caused by the infected foods.

Another theory is to be born on the 24th of December, and the child shall be born a werewolf. I personally don't believe this. I believe most paranormal things and creatures who are said to be fake, but I don't believe this

Heres something I found on a guy's Myspace:
Historical legends describe a wide variety of methods for becoming a werewolf. One of the simplest was the removal of clothing and putting on a belt made of wolf skin, probably a substitute for the assumption of an entire animal skin which also is frequently described. In other cases the body is rubbed with a magic salve. To drink water out of the footprint of the animal in question or to drink from certain enchanted streams were also considered effectual modes of accomplishing metamorphosis. Olaus Magnus says that the Livonian werewolves were initiated by draining a cup of specially prepared beer and repeating a set formula. Ralston in his Songs of the Russian People gives the form of incantation still familiar in Russia. Another theory is to be born on the 24th of December, and the child shall be born a werewolf. It is also said that the seventh son of the seventh son will become a werewolf. Another (and the most common modern belief) is to be directly bitten by a werewolf, where the saliva enters the blood stream.

This guy knows much of werewolves. So if I don't know the answer and you have a Myspace ask this guy =3

I definately believe in werewolves. 3 wonderful films about them are Underworld, Underworld Evolution and Dog Soldiers. They have The first 2 films are about an ancient blood feud between vampires and werewolves (the later being called "lycans"). Dog Soldiers is about a team of soldiers getting trapped inside a house, while battling a pack of werewolves.

I have seen Dog Soldiers. It's a good movie.

I neither believe nor disbelive in werewolves.(This sounds like a cop-off but its true!).I belive its completely possible for I belive anything is possible just highly inprobable. I quess I am some what of an idealist. We know so little of the world and yet are assumptions are soon made into frequent inferences. You know what they saw..assuming makes an (a** out of u and me). However I have heard the latest theory that compines and despells several already mentioned. They say that long ago werewolves weren't a mutation but a species. They say that they were honored as gods (I dont like this part cause I is a christian, but besides it justs means they were held that way not that they were! :) ) and that they were the dominant species. It has also been said that they now think that you were either born a werewolf or you would never be one. Which dispells the earlier theory of the infectious bite. They also say that the rumor of silver being a kryptonite to them is true but its not the only thing that can kill them. Its just the most effective. Finally they say that all of this is recorded somewhere in an old book that supposedly reveals the real info. Which is why some people are searching for it.

I only half believe in Werewolves.
As I stated it was a disease that made them act like wolves. They never actually turned into one.

I believe in Lycanthropy, the mental disorder in which a person believes they can turn into an animal. Mostly wolves because of the 'natural' fear many people have for wolves mainly thanks to old myths and legends and fairy tales like "Little red riding hood".

The whole human actually turning into a wolf or wolf-like creature, no. Although it sounds cool and all, I don't believe it's true, more myth.

ive been studing them for a while i'm a beliver but unlike the vicious killers their said to be. I think were's (lycans) are here to protect us from things we're not sapposed to see or things we werent ment to understand. It's why their hardly seen. But it could just be that back when people were just starting to come 2 parts of america native americans would desige themselves as wolves inorder to confuse their prey er the deer. Many spainerds and others ventering here may have and most likly did confuse them with were wolves most likly getting a glance of the appendages under the animal skins. now not every native american did this and reports of weres in america have shown up nearly everywhere but mainly in heavily wooded areas. one of the most popular is the bray beast in wisconson. even now people report seeing a large dog (or wolf) like figure bending over like a man, its tail is short, fur color blac and its muzzle short as well. No children or campers or people have gone missing in the forest in which he inhabits but, a large varity of small dogs and mangled deer have been found in the area. the canine eats by the high way alot appently cause people keep seeing him/her there i'd give u a site but i lost it when i got a new email address

Isn't Lycanthropy a mental illness that was caused by bad food in the Olden Days?

It is a mental illness but it's not caused by bad food and it's still around now, it's not just in the olden days.

Have any of you saw Monster Quest? It has a show about werewolves. There were people that swore they saw 7 foot canines. They even took a Lying Test & whatnot(and the results came out Truth!)It has tons of stuff on that show. I believe in Werewolves - but not the type that can turn into human. I don't believe in the werewolves you see on T.V killing people & such. I believe them as ANIMALS - just normal, huge canines. Like a rare type in the canine family that acts just like a normal animal. That's what I believe.

One guy said he saw a huge, tall canine standing on two legs. He took a test & it came out Truthfully.

That's how I see it.

Yes, Lycanthropy is a mental illness. So people don't laugh at you when you say that, call it Clinical Lycanthropy. Its not just wolves that you can 'transform into.' It can be dogs, big cats, hyenas and even gazelles.
