" I'm afraid she's upset." The cook said to Anene, grabbing a little piece, and throwing it to her. " When will she understand it wasn't her fault? Oh Anene, I was hoping that a new dog would cheer her up, but, it didn't." He said, sighing.
" I know what'll cheer her up!" She thought, walking to another room, and came back, pulling a sled, big enough for her. She dragged it over to Lindsy. She looked, and petted her, but then sighed.
" No Anene, I don't feel like sledding right now." She told her, and kept on eating her waffles, thinking about something.
The wolfdog lowered her ears, and dropped the harness. She walked out of the house, where Buster, Abella and Balto were talking.
" Anene! Happy Valentine's day!" The poodle exclaimed, walking over.
" Yeah, same to all of you, I guess." She responded, looking upset.
" Is there something wrong?" Balto asked her, a bit worried.
" With me? Nothing, it's Lindsy I'm worried about." She responded looking up at everyone.
" Is she hurt?" Buster asked, wrinkling his nose.
" No." Anene answered, shaking her head.
" Is she sick?" Abella asked.
" No, she seems a little... upset." She looked up at the house.
" Do you know why?" Balto said.
" No, I don't. I tried to cheer her up, with the sled, but it didn't help in any." Anene said, cocking her head. " It's the first time I've seen her like this. I wish I could help."
" Well, if you need anything, tell us." Buster told her.
" Thanks." She said smiling, then got up, and went down the road.
She walked up to a house, and scratched the doggy door. No one answered.
" Hmm, I wonder where she is." Anene jumped the steps, and glanced to both sides, seeing nothing, she started to cross it, but a horse almost got in her way. Watching as it passed by, two red dogs sang as they enjoyed the ride.
" You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy, when skies are gray! You'll never know dear, how much I love you, please don't take, my sunshine away!" They sang in duet, 'till Saba noticed Anene.
" Happy valentines day!" She said, as they got farther away. Anene smiled, shaking her head, and then started to chase after the sled.
" Hello Saba, Joy." She said, noticing the red faced dog winking at her in greeting as she sang. " Have any of you seen my mom?" She asked, panting for air.
This time, it was Joy who stopped singing, she shook her head. " No, but ask my mom, maybe she knows." She said, and then continued singing.
Anene stop, and thought for a moment.
" Yeah, maybe Jenna can help, after all she's almost always with her." She then started to walk again, trotting around town, looking everywhere, until she came up to Jenna by the butchers.
