So at school there's this girl named Emma. She has a mental illness and lately I've been trying to make friends with her. She basically has no friends so she's pretty lonely.

She doesn't really trust anybody, but Grace and I have tried to help her out with a few things! She always makes herself seem a little tougher than she is and doesn't get most things that you say to her. Most people don't want to be ANYWHERE near her!

She also will be like "NO NO NO!" When nothing is happening at all. Then when you walk past her she'll switch moods and hug you or something O_o

And nobody likes her in my Ice Skating classes(Started up again soon that's why I'm a tad bit worried) Because she's messed up our show act for two years. So that adds to how much people dislike her. Plus she's always in front of Sanya and I or behind us. Sonya and I ALWAYS get stuck near her skating. While, near us she picks her nose and eats whatever comes out of it -_-

I have no clue what my friends and I can do for her so I've sorta given up on her for awhile. Please opinions on this?

My best advice would be to try to find out exactly what she has. Then you can research it on the Internet, and understand her better

Sheba's right. Find out what she has and try to understand her better. And I think it's nice of you and your friend to try and help her. But perhaps being outcasted and then having people come up to her saying hi or something may have put the idea in her head she can be comfortable around you.(Note I am NOT a professional phsycaitrist, but I AM mediocre)

It does sound like Emma does have a kink in her brain somewhere. Poor girl.

But really, keep up being friends with her. It's very unfortunate that some of these people grow up alone. Even if they have no concept of alone, it's still good to socialize with them because attention does bring a smile to them.

I give you credit for being able to do this, because not everyone is capable of getting past the handicap barrier and interact with them.

Well, the panicking over absolutely nothing and moodswings definitely aren't signs of Asperger's. Probably something else.
