The following is copied from ym DA journal.

C'mon, I don't ask very often for people to to just read something so gimme a break here.

I literally just found out about something called Mediabox, it's an organization that funds media projects for young people aged 13-19, I've just been reading about it and printed off a 7-page information thing about it.

...And it got me thinking...it includes comics as a media project and I've had an idea buzzing around in my head for awhile now about a story I'd like to turn into a comic to be published but I don't have money....but the mediabox does, it has this thing called MyMediabox and either an individual person or group of people can apply for a grant to help do this.

For an individual person it's up to £500 max but for a group it's up to £1000 max, obviously I couldn't do a comic on my own as my idea includes lots of human chars and city BGs including anthro wolves.

So...I'm wanting to know if any people here who are good at people, city BGs or other aspects of comic making would be interested in helping, I'd love to do this as I'll probably never get the chance otherwise so if you're interested please note me and let me know.
Only note if you're serious though, with a grant I could print the comic and get it published properly but I'd need help, a lot of it, I cannot do people or city scapes (or BG's in general really) so help is desperately needed.

It'd be put here on DA with an account for itself with a password all staff would have and I think it's an awesome oppurtunity to get your art known out there. Also be aware that if you are interested I'd need your full, real name to put on the appliaction form for funding and possibly your address. I'd never give out personal information but that's a matter of trust for you.

So, please!, note me or e-mail at [email protected] if you're interested. I won't be going by friendships though, I need people who can do this properly, no offence to anyone but I'd need that if people want to help and it'd go ahead. Also remember that we not get funding after all so don't get your hopes up if you like this idea.

And yes, I am begging now!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically that all means I need artists to help.

I'm in desperate need of someone who can draw humans and someone who can draw city BGs
Snowboarder Doby already said she'd do colouring/shading/inking.

Human drawer: Needs to be able to draw humans well, would have to be able to print out my sketch and draw on the people ready for colouring/inking ect.

BG artist: Would need to be able to print off my sketch with the added humans on it and sketch in a BG. There may also be a need for them or someone else to colour the BG.

If you're thinking about putting your comic online, I seriously recommend publishing the comic on a website of its own.

Putting it on DA will make it look unprofessional. Yes, I know I'm telling you to work even harder, but it's much worth the effort. Your own website would be much easier for users to navigate, and much faster. Users wouldn't have to wait for an entire DA page to load to read one strip.

If you need any help with web design for comics, or hosting, I'm here. closedgrin.gif

Now THAT is what I call an idea!

Thanks Lennox, it'd really help, I would've done something similar myself bu I don't know the first thing about doing a website, I tried using Freewebs once and promised myself that for my own sanity I'd never do it again.

I could help...I'm NOT good at backgrounds. What what else is there?

I might need someone for clean-up, such as touching up shadows/highlights, checking each page for bits that don't look right and such.

I can set you up with a simple content manager. Basically it does all the work for you, so you don't have to touch a line of code. You just upload your comic daily, weekly, whatever, and it archives it, smacks it on the front page, and links it with other comics automatically.

If you're interested PM me with a few details:

-Comic Name
-How you want the site to look (Layout, page details, etc.)

If you don't have hosting, I'll give you an FTP account and a subdomain. "http://yoursite.lennoxbuilt.com/"
If you find your own hosting later, it will be a piece of cake to transfer it to another server. You can use this account for as long as you like. I'll answer questions if you got 'em.

-Desired FTP account:
-Desired FTP password:
-Desired subdomain:

These are easily changed. Don't worry about making a final decision.

Give me the go, and I'll set it up.
