5) all the classic disney movies. they never lose their glamour.

7) I agree. I think they put singing scenes in the movies because it is easier to throw few songs so that you don´t have to concentrate making the story so much. still there are these musical movies that is all about music and it is okay but when you add songs to a movie that concentrates more in the story it doesn´t fit.

I put a lot of thought into this. XD

1. Actually I’d have to agree that Balto is not really that well-known. It IS an example of a superb animated feature, however. Yes, The Lion King and All Dogs go to Heaven are two of the “If you like Balto you will probably also enjoy these” movies. I guess if I were recommending more animated movies to a Balto fan, I’d include a lot of classic Disney animal films like Lady & the Tramp and Oliver & Company, and perhaps some other lesser known non-Disneys like Fern Gully, The Land Before Time, Thumbelina, The Pebble & the Penguin, etc.—also high quality movies.

2. Well, not all of the DTV movies are bad, and a LOT of the CG films (ie, Pixar’s) are just as good as many traditionally animated ones. However, yes, nowadays the overall quality seems to be slipping in many instances. I wouldn’t want to stop what’s being made today entirely, but I would want to see hand-drawn animation get back on track, and everything that’s made have real effort behind it and not just a desire to make a quick buck. Do I think we have enough great classics to last? Absolutely. I couldn’t list them all. So many animated movies will, and should, live forever. Many, like Balto, are underappreciated and need the fans like everyone on this board to keep them from falling into the realm of forgotten masterpieces.

3. MOST underrated? That’s a toughie. Numerous titles could be given here. For me, I would say Oliver & Company. I’ve adored this movie since I was little, and yet it seems to be the one favorite Disney film of mine that gets absolutely no attention whatsoever. They haven’t even made it a sequel yet (which isn’t NECESSARILY a bad thing.) But I’ve always had a heck of a time finding O&C merchandise and for the most part Disney seems to act like it was never even made. I was astounded to find my Rita plush at the mall a few years ago.

4. Yikes, there are LOADS of attractive animated characters!
I’ll start by listing all my favorite female animated dogs, because I have a lot of them, and they are in my opinion among the most beautiful.
Rita (Oliver & Company); Sasha (All Dogs go to Heaven 2); Dixie (The Fox & the Hound 2); Brainy Barker (Krypto the Superdog); Bella (Millionaire Dogs); Georgette (Oliver & Company); Cross (Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin); Dixie & Sylvie (Balto); Mousée (An American Tail: Mystery of the Night Monster); Peg (Lady & the Tramp); Ruby (Lady & the Tramp 2); Persia (Road Rovers); Velvet (Millionaire Dogs.)
As for human females…my very favorite Disney ones are Megara, Esmeralda, & Ariel. Then there’s Jessie and Cassidy from Pokémon...and other females: Roxanne, Sylvia Marpole, and the Beret Girl from the Goofy Movies; Mirage from The Incredibles; Lola (Shark Tale); Lola Bunny (Space Jam); and Rita from Flushed Away.
Guys are even more numerous. As for the dogs (my favorite animals & characters if you can’t tell), I like many of the guys from the same movies/series my favorite girls came from, or their originals. I’d have to say my two winners are Boris from Lady & the Tramp and Rocket of Ginga Densetsu Weed, because they’re Borzoi. <3
My other most attractive animated males: James (Pokémon); Randall (Monsters Inc); Dimitri (Anastasia); Bubbles, Gill, Gurgle & Mr. Ray (Finding Nemo—yeah, they’re fish, so what? :p); Sesshoumaru (Inuyasha); the Brave Little Toaster gang (attractive appliances, is she nuts? Yes! Actually no, all characters are personified to a degree, so finding them cute is perfectly acceptable and easy—same with Chick Hicks, DJ & Wingo of Cars); Snow Miser (The Year Without a Santa Claus); Frollo (Hunchback of Notre Dame—what?! Yes, LOL; and several more Disney humans & villains I’ll let him represent); Squidward, Larry the Lobster (Spongebob); Jorgen von Strangle (Fairly Oddparents); Zoidberg (Futurama); Basil (The Great Mouse Detective); and some gazillion other cartoonies from humans to humanoids to aminals!! XD

5. What got me into animation?! Oh gosh, if I had to take a wild guess at what the first animated thing I ever saw and fell in love with was…I suppose I’d say some classic Disney film like Cinderella or Dumbo. But honestly, I do not know. I feel as if I was born an animation lover, the point when I “got into it” was at such a young age. It’s never stopped being a huge part of me.

6. An ending I’d change? Hrm. Only thing I can think of off the bat is the American Tail sequel, Mystery of the Night Monster. My favorite character, a little miniature poodle named Madame Mousée, would have been victorious in that movie if it were up to me. She was the villain, but it was only because the dog pack in the local park nastily refused to let her join them when she escaped her overbearing owner. Poor thing. She can make you think twice about how you judge poodles.

7. Hmmmm. Well, I have to slightly disagree. I personally LOVE musicals, so if the movie is a musical (like The Lion King), then the characters can sing up a storm and I will be totally delighted. Well-placed songs can really help develop a character or plotline, and again, if the movie is meant to be told partly through song, then they’re not a waste of time. I think music is the one universal language, so it’s really not out of character for almost ANY character to sing a song; and naturally, for those that are singers anyway, it’s easy to expect.
Of course, sometimes musical numbers add a fantasy element to what might otherwise be a serious, dramatic, or fairly realistic movie (just like TLK.) The music playing out of nowhere and the scenery suddenly making all these changes could be seen as kind of silly by some, I guess. But to me, it’s wonderful (I wish real life could be a musical!)
Obviously, you do want a good score (the background music), which can include instrumental and vocal numbers. And the end credits normally have a song or two with lyrics, often one that either has to do with the movie’s theme or is another version of one of the movie’s songs, or something. Those are perfectly good places for songs too.

No problem, it was an interesting questionnaire and fun to fill out. ^^ And hey, wow, I'm glad Rita is your #1 too, that's awesome! I know, you could go on forever with everything there is to love about her. She's been my fave for a long, long time. :D

1. It seems that balto has become one of the major animation movies of our time and knowed everywere.
People have linked two names as companion pieces to balto, and those are lion king & all dogs go to heaven.
I have seen those two more then anything, so what would be a good companion movie or show to balto and why

I'm not to sure. Lion king and All Dogs Go To Heaven just fit so perfectly, and more than others.

2. Now a days it looks like 3D movies, movies and shows for kids under 5, and DTV tapes are coming out with none of the greatness that makes us come back for more. Do you think we have enough names from the past years to last us for years, and stop the ones made today?
Not to sure how to answer that one XD

3.What is the most underrated animated movie of all time and why?
I believe that Wolf Quest fits this! The characters from the first movie looked so different and there was bloopers every two seconds or less!!! And Aleu was annoying -_-

4.Who do you think is the most attractive male and female of anmated. (And this goes for character and lookes)

Rita,Sasha, Jenna,Dixie, are pretty cool. If I were a dog I'd probably want to look like them XD For males I'd say Steele(You gotta love him XD), and Balto >D

5.What got you in to animtion. (My was Digimon)

What got me into Animation? Well I've been drawing all my life and not until I was older I started liking Animation better. I started drawing little movements with stick figures and stuff XD But I'd have to say all of the animes I watch.

6.Is there a ending to a movie or show that you might change and why?

I'd change Wolf Quest's ending. I'd have Nava not be able to make it and Aleu would die >D

7. What are your thoughts about the in singing songs in movies, I find them pointless for a few resons. one is that it takes up time for a movie, and by taking them out you can make more time for the story and the characters. It also takes the characters out of place and out of character. (Unless they are a singer). If there is song it should be in two places, with the backround muise and at the end credits. what do you think?

I dis-agree and agree. In animated movies it's Okay for background music and ending credits like you said, but some movies like The Fox and The Hound Two have the characters singing for a reason and singing what they feel. In Life action I like it if it's a good singer, such as the one who sang for Fly Away Home.

Ha ha, yay!
I'd wanna be some kind of mash-up of Rita, Sasha, and Dixie from TFATH2, since those three look like sisters anyway. XD

Balto is not a well-known film, but I bet it would've been if it were not for Universals 'brilliant' marketing plan. Whilst The Lion King and All Dogs go to Heaven are great films, I think that they are too different to be related to Balto. If there's anything that I'd consider as a companion film to Balto, it would have to be Disney's The Rescuers. Like Balto, it's about faith, not giving up and finding the true hero inside yourself, no matter who or what you are.

I think we have enough animation classics to last us a long time. However, I wish that animation would be taken seriously again, instead of just fancy 3D graphics and retarded jokes. There are elements in Balto that you simply do not find in films like 'Barnyard,' or even some of Pixar's films.

3.What is the most underrated animated movie of all time and why?

Balto. Definately Balto. I've never seen a film like it before. It's a deep and moving film, with humour and heart. It's very mature for a family film. Universal released Balto at the same time as Toy Story, and whilst Toy Story is a masterpiece of CGI, I felt that it was incredibly unfair for the critics at the time to compare Balto to Toy Story, and to Disney in general. They claimed that 'only very young children will find Balto enjoyable,' which I feel is far removed from the truth. Balto is not perfect, but it's pretty doggone close, and I find it more enjoyable than some so-called 'Disney Classics.' (e.g The Jungle Book or Finding Nemo.)

I'm not the sort of person who likes answering those kinds of questions!

5.What got you in to animtion. (My was Digimon)

I watched many animated films when I was little. I rewatched The Lion King almost a year ago, and that got me back into animation. I then got my hands on the Lion King sequels. (which are also great.) I discovered Balto last Christmas, and that was what really got me back into a world I had all but forgotten.

Quote:
6.Is there a ending to a movie or show that you might change and why?

I would change the ending to Balto II: Wolf Quest. I felt that it was slightly rushed, and not as powerful as it could have been. But it's still not your average DTV ending.

Depends. Musical sequences do have their places in films - e.g they can be used to emphasise a point (like Hakuna Matata or Be Prepared.) But in a really serious film like Balto, songs have no places except in the credits. Also, in film sequels (like the numerous crappy LBT sequels) songs have no place at all. They are just placed for the sake of having a song.
