That's absolutely horrible that they would do that to a dog. :(

...

I've been to Vietnam before, and I did see some restaurant specialized in selling dogs (For food, of course), it's just horrible how they could do it to a dog (Which doesn't even know what's going on) but come to thing of it, we've also been killing other animals, not only dogs for food, we should have a wider view in this case, eating dogs may be a traditional thing for those countries, who knows *shrugs* you can't just come to them and say that you don't like the food they eat and they should stop it, the fact is that they will never stop it, eating dogs is like something very important for them, their tradition, the best thing to do is just cope with it, those countries wouldn't be the same without dog meat I think, you'll never be able to understand it. Asia is very different from Europe and other continents.

BTW, that video gives me the chills

I completely agree with you, but they're doing it the WRONG way. Did you even see how they killed them?

Then how do you want them to do the killing?

That was disgusting, vile, revolting etc etc, etc, it mad me cry cry.gif cryeyesout.gif .

Do these people understand that the animals have feelings, they must do surely, if they do they are evil :x

starsky_balto, I agree with everything in your post and the quote. It dose happen in other countries and not all Asians are so bad, I'm sure the majority hate it as much as we do.

I have nothing against the eating dogs etc-just the way they are killed it has to stop!

people/charity/organisations are fighting for an end to animal cruelty, it is getting better I believe, and on day it wil be much more minimal will-one day-but when?

Sheba

I didn't watch the video, because I'm not going to lie about my age.

However, I am going to make an unpopular stance here.

Humans come before animals. If they need food, in my opinion, eating dog is justified. Human life comes before animal life - if they need the food, so be it. Although, if the dogs are being tortured, it would seem to be unnecessary.

Well, although it may seem "harsh", "vile" or "disgusting" to us, it's tradition to them. Telling them they're sick and wrong for that is like telling a Muslim that not eating pork is sick and wrong. In their minds it's not wrong at all, and I don't know about you guys, but I'd much rather have somebody eating my dog then having her being hit by a car or being poisoned by recalled dog food. Think about it, atleast the dogs there are being put to use, there are so many homeless dogs in this world that I'm suprised we aren't eating them yet. I agree that it was a little gross how they hung them, but like I said, it's all normal to them, they don't know any better..

It's hard to believe how incredibly ignorant that post was. "They don't know any better." That's discrediting them as human beings. Have you ever considered, that maybe the Asian cultures need that food? You want some of them to starve? "They don't know any better." Just, wow.

I have to say I totallydisagree with you on this one outlaw, what do you mean by "it was a little gross how they hung them"? The dog was yelping, almost screaming, it was in severe pain.

The problem is in how they're killing the dogs, not the fact that they are .

as I said in my previous post I have nothing against eating dogs, just in the cruel way that they do it.

And I'm quite sure that they do know they are in pain-according to what I have heard they taste better if they have a painful death.

They can still eat dogs but the way in which they keep and kill them has to change.

As for what you said about the homeless dogs, at least the ones that end up in shelters are killed humanely.

Sheba.

When I said "they don't know any better", I ment that they don't know how much other people think it's harsh. Don't be so quick to judge. I wasn't insulting them at all.

And when did I ever say that they didn't need that food? I wasn't disrespecting them AT.ALL.

"They don't know any better" is more of a justification for something they did wrong. The words you used actually imply that they are in the wrong. And yes, that is disrespecting them. Rethink your word choice. What you mean and how you say it can be two very different things.
