I just...don't like hunting, period. People in my family do it. I'd never do it. I will only shoot animals with cameras unless I absolutely need to, simple as that.

Im fine with hunting. Theres about 10 million deer needing a bullet in them. The deer population in the Allegany Mountains is the worse its been in history since the Indians. More are getting killed by cars then guns anyway. Deer jerky is sounding good! And hunting season is getting close. Bambi has got to go, sorry.

I dont hunt myself but I know alot that do hunt. Coyotees and wolves basically dont exist where I live, so hunting them is out of mind. Of which, isnt wolf hunting illegal in every state except Alaska??

I personally wouldn't want to hunt, but I do not have a problem with people that do, or with the sport itself.

There was certainly a time a long time ago when hunting played a major role in feeding a family. That being said, having spent some time working at a wildlife rescue center I don't like seeing wild creatures killed or injured by a misplaced shot. It can seem like there is a abundance of certain species, but at the same time, we are taking more and more of their land. Nature seems to do a pretty decent job of keeping itself in balance without aid of man's guns.

I absolutely agree with that, Balto Musher.

I agree with starsky. There's a real difference between killing for food and killing for fun. Now, I understand that in some areas animals need to be killed - e.g. deer overpopulation, when their natural predators like wolves are extinct.

I don't like fox hunting. No offence to anyone who does like it, but I think it is immoral and cruel to chase and harass a poor fox for hours on end, just for the sake of sport. Foxes can reck havoc on poultry farms, but how do you know that it is the 'offending' fox you are killing?

I have no problem with hunting. I prefer if folks would bow or handgun hunt; it gives the animal a little better chance. Aerial hunting provides almost no challenge whatsoever and I don't agree with that. I also prefer that folks eat what they kill, rather than just taking the skin or antlers. You can still keep the antlers or whatever, but make sure you are eating what you kill. Of course, I demand that everyone follow all applicable laws while hunting. If you follow those guidelines, I have no problem.

Matter of fact, when I get my guns and licences, I'll make sure I hunt wolves in my area until they are extinct. I'll take their guts, put them in a thermos and eat wolf guts. Wolves will occaisonally prey on livestock animals and when I get my future horse breeding land and stable, I'll make sure that the wolf pack around my area is driven to extinction.

That is pretty sick. :?
