Yes but what if when they raised it, it broke? And was ruined forever.

no, it should not be raised. Why? It is a grave site. To raise it would be extremely disrespectful, and a lot of people (including descendants of those who died) would be very upset, and rightfully so.

That's like my Aunt's grave being dug up and soemone just throwing her out into the garbage... It's disrepectful to those who died on that ship. On the other hand it is a great piece of history. But still! Raising the Titanic could cause an uproar. And Lord knows President Bush(Ugh) doesn't need anymore of that since this war in Iraq was started...

[quote="Gauntlet"]I find very little reason to raise the Titanic. It's a grave site and once we raise it, what's there to learn? We know what the ship looked like, how the passengers dressed, what they ate, and most importantly, we knew how the ship sank. Why invest millions into a project to raise a rusty hull full of knick-knacks and possibly bodies? It's a waste.[/quote/]
Very well put. America really doesn't have the money to waste on something like that.

"...the debt stood at $8,369,526,197,055.36." That was yesterday. But hey, what's a few more million, right? That seems to be the government's way of thinking.

We've been in debt since this country began and kept on spending. It's nothing new. You're right about the government because they know that money is just floating in the air and you can use it any time you'd like.
