Do you think health and safety regulations are overdone?

I certainly think they are-in England and New Zealand anyway-examples.

In the UK I found it virtually impossible to find any volunteer work with animals because of health and safety.

A hospital in the UK won’t allow flowers because they may carry germs. I think flowers cheer people up and that helps people recover-besides what about all the germs on visitor’s hands/clothes

In NZ hospital cleaner’s aren’t allowed to reach their arms up above their heads because it mite injure them. What about all the spider webs etc up there where they can’t reach, surely that's unhygienic?

And there are many others

It just seems crazy to me hello were supposed to have fun-and take few risks-no to be bored stiff and do nothing but be extremely healthy and safe!

Mad, just plain mad crazy.gif

Of course they're overdone, but it's mostly because one idiot out there did something unbelievably stupid to screw it up for everyone else.

For example, White Water in Atlanta had some big trouble a few years ago. Some idiotic mother wasn't paying attention to her kid and was completely oblivious to the fact it crapped in the pool. E. coli from the turd incubating in the pool killed off someone else and panic ensued.

Well, to make a long story short, they now dump much more chlorine in the water. So much of it is used, it becomes irritating to stay in the water too long.

I'm nut sure of regulations Europe, but in the states the TSA is a huge problem.

There are some safety regulations out there which are ridiculous. For example, I've heard of this child's Batman costume that said 'Warning: Cape does not enable user to fly.' Well duh!
