Whenever his wolf side is mentioned ("But maybe a wolf can.") or when a wolf appears, he always shows that shameful expression. Did anyone else notice this?

He grew up in a town full of purebred dogs. He learned over time he was different from the others in a bad way. It didn't help that others would give him a hard time.

No matter how powerful one is, if they grow up being told they are weak, that's exactly what they'll believe.

Well, he didn't hate being part wolf as much as Aleu did...

Leenox is right, he grew up in a town, where dogs hated wolves or wolfdogs, so he learned to hate that side, unfortunantely. But after the epidemic he must've trusted it more. ^^

I agree with both of you there, if Balto had been treated like the other dogs he probably wouldn't have hated it so much.

Yes, I know the reason why. Also, in the third movie, it doesn't seem like anyone cares about it.

B1: Balto was ashamed of his wolf side because Nome was a town of pure-bred dogs, and he wasn't a pure-bred, so he was shunned, moreso for being part wolf. In the end he learned to accept it.

WQ: Balto was unsure of it but didn't want much to do with wolves. Although he did mention that "some of the dogs still tease me about it".

WoC: Nobody cared. This was very contradictory compared to both B1 and WQ. 'The call' thing was a wolf howl, and Balto ran away from it, which makes sense since he'd probly still have a hard time with it, and he obviously was not used to being howled at by a bunch of younger dogs. All of the younger dogs (I would say birthdate late 1925 to about 1926) adored Balto as a hero. What I found odd was that there seemed no older dogs around who knew Balto before the diphtheria epidemic that played a real part in WoC, sure, some B1 characters appeared, but they were simply cameos and they didn't actually say anything.

Yeah... actually, none of the humans who appeared in Balto 1 and 2 interacted with Balto at all either.

Not quit e true, In B1 Rosie's dad yelled and kicked snow at him, and the and patted and talked to him. The Butcher yelled at him when Balto rescued Boris.

I'm talking about in Balto 3. Do you see any of the humans from the first and second movie at all in that movie?

In the beginning however we do see Rosie and her mum very briefly, but you are mostly right.
