I was going throught some galleries lately and I've been really surprised to see that some of you don't respect the rules.

There is two possibilities: First, it's only because you didn't know the rules (and that's why I'm written this topic, second because you don't care about the rules. Honnestly I don't believe in that :]

I've take a look at the other 'fanart rules topic' and there is no trace of what I'm gonna write, so please don't start saying that there is already a a FAR topic.

Rules that are for both BS and LKS:

The golden rule

Any gallery will be uploaded on the site if there isn't at least one Balto or TLK Fanart.

1.You are not allowed to use real photos in your pictures.

2. Keep in mind that we're gonna ba very strict with bloody picture. There is too many of them on the site.

3. One more time, no sexual picture.

4. There is gonna be a restriction about anthro pictures. We never saw an anthro on Balto or on the lion king. Pictures about anthro are fine, I like them, but I don't wanna see an entire galley based on anthro with just one wolf or lion pic. You must understand that we are on a fan site, not on DaviantArt or SheezyArt.

5.Just like for anthro, there is also gonna be a restriction on other Fanart. Okami, link...etc are just fine as soon as there not too many. We are here because we all love Balto, not because of okami or Zelda.

6. About off topic: No horse,Cat, Tiger ,fantasy creature like griffin, or unicornes, car, plane, train other humans that the ones that appears on the Balto movie...etc will be accepted.

7. About the type of the drawing, please don't pic 'balto' or 'tlk' if it's not a fan drawing.


I'm maybe going the update that list soon or later.


Now the other mod and I will be going through all the galleries to checked them. If you have some picture that breaks the rules, please, remove them. That would be really apreciate.

i agree with all the rules exept numbers 2 and 7 because i am creating a creature wolf thing and posting it on kiradas topic and its a killer deamon with blood all around the mouth.

also some people like iluvyou have drew lots of bloody pics but i think itll be hard to stop esecialy if your drawing your angry feelings

However about rule number 7. I guess it WOULD be fine with it as far as it contains WOLVES too, right?
Because I`ve seen many drawings having a car and a wolf next to it. And I haven`t seen complaints about it.

there is many way to express your anger, blood is not the only way. You must understand that there is many child on the site, and blood disturb them. I'm maybe gonna do some exception, but's it's gonna be after talking with Steet.

About rule number 7: if your creature looks like a wolf, there is no reason to me to not upload it :]



Yes, that's gonna be ok, as soon as it concernes one or two pictures. No more.

Just an add, I wanted to say that I`ve noticed numerous galleries without havin at least one Balto pic. I understand that mods can`t go and looks through all the galleries.. but from what I know of they aren`t allowed to send other stuff than balto related if they don`t have AT LEAST one Balto pic (or any other character from the movie).

Yup that's right. This is the GOLDEN RULE lol and it's on the top of the list ;p

Okay for some reason these rules seem to make it clearer, I did read the rules but I was a bit confused by them :S I've just realised that I uploaded something before my Balto pic and I'm really sorry about that. um.. forgive me?

You will have to pardon me, I agree with the lot of these rules. But, here are my cons for it.

Don't take this comment to offense, please - but who gave one moderator the "power" the update/change the rules? I can see your point with the lot of this, but, I also don't.

Anthros - that is simply crossing wolves and humans, but more or less more canine-like. How can these be "off-topic" because they did not appear in the movies? (original characters such as dogs, wolves, foxes...are thus allowed). Mods have been accepting creatures like: anthros, created canines, winged wolves, etc. for a long time now.

Need I say, I did not appreciate the comment "if you could draw less anthros", they consist only of a max of 3% in my gallery, the rest being wolves. How could this pose a problem? If the mods feel the need to delete mine, they need to concentrate on the people with more of them, as well (you know who they are). Don't make any one person feel singled out.

As far as I understand steet's rule, if there is one previous picture of Balto in the gallery, us mods will be able to accept the gallery. However, I have over four (some I didn't mark as Balto Drawings, like Tingi and Kiona fanart/gift art).

And if I understand this, as well, the galleries don't have to be all Balto or all The Lion King.

But, on to expressing my pros/cons with the rules (Clay's method):

1.You are not allowed to use real photos in your pictures. It's only ok if it's a comemorative pic (9/11, SI...etc)
Personally, I'm a fire fighter. Pictures for 9-11-01, that do not consist of REAL pictures, I will accept. However, if they do contain real photographs, I won't.

I, too, have not seen many. The ones I have seen they apologized for, and the mods did not have to accept them. If they did, they obviously feel the members of the site can view them.

3.You are not allowded to send gif images on the site. Gif are only allowded for ANIMATION.
Most of the .gifs I have seen ARE animations. Otherwise, I haven't happen upon any others.

I strongly agree. BUT, I also will allow pictures of shirtless men, and clothed women as long as they are not sexually suggestive.

Anthros, huh? I believe I have already stressed my opinion about this above. BUT, I do not see why they shouldn't be accepted. Given, this isn't SA or DA, but, would the site only containing Balto and TLK art make it rather drull? I mean, I would certainly delete my own gallery, or submit fewer pictures. I draw anthros by special request or, a random idea I'd like to share with someone.

Agreed, here. I, personally, have never played these games, but I do grow tired of seeing 'Naruto fan characters', other animes, and so on in a website for mainly Lions and Wolves.

Hmm, I'm partial to this one. I believe we should allow the members to be creative with their art, allow them to post some created characters (like [[LivyLou]]'s GotCs, and my GWoS), otherwise, there will be no real interest for some members on the site.

Hmm, this again portrays number Seven's response. I don't see why it cannot, it has always been the way as to you can post your own characters, as well as Balto Characters. What's next - only Balto and TLK in the role play boxes?

I agree with you on all of these. I think the only ones I disagree with are the GIF format only for animated pics, and the creatures. I use GIF because it keeps the picture crisp with best quality, PNG is great for that too, which is now acceptable to send in as, but the files are always so big with that format. As for with the fantasy, I don't see the problem with them if they're wolves. foxes, etc that are balto related, unless the whole gallery is fantasy.

This needs to be made into an announcement. People need to know this.

To be clear with all of you....I'm BlueStef....Maybe you don't know but I was the first fanart mod. During a long time I was charged alone to do updates and to check all the gallery, During this time I've ask many times Steet, Zekee, and Wolf 250 advices about what to do. We came out about some rules.

Because I was overboocked Steet named other mods.

I wasn't rude I was nice with all of you, so please be the same with me, OK ??

I send some message to you by pm, I didn't deleted yours pics, first I just wanted to let you know. Don't act like superior to me, because we're all the same.

I SAID that if you have questions I'll be happy to answer them. I don't understand why you're flaming.

About anthro, I didn't say that it was FORBIDEN to draw them. I did say that there is gonna be a restriction. If you didn't see a difference......

I had talk with Steet about that point a long time a go about a person. We agree on the point that anthro will be accepted, but pm will be send to artist that got too much ones in their gallery to ask them to slow down.

This rules existed long before you were a mod. Sorry if didn't know this rules, but they exit. Well it's the point of the topic, hellowwww !

I never said that I was going to delete your anthro pic....
I just ask you to slow dow your anthro. I didn't ask you to stop drawing them. And plesa don't feel alone, I've ask many artist to do the same. Sorry but I'm not superman, so it's gonna take me a while to contact all the members.

I'm sorry not to go to the mod box, but everytime I go there it was useless. I'm absolutly not acting superior. I wanted to send pm to all the fan art mod, but I think it was better to do this topic before and then talk about it on the chat.
