Well, I just bought Bioshock. Think the 1960's, your on an airplane flying over the pacific. All of a sudden your plane crashes, you are the only survivor. You swim to a lighthouse nearby and are compelled to go inside. You get into a transport and find yourself going into an underwater world thats pretty much gone to hell.

The game starts off a little linear, but once you get a little further it starts getting pretty open. you have a nice assortment of weapons. Standard Pistol, Shotgun, Machine gun, Wrench, Grenade launcher, Crossbow, chemical thrower.

There is also plasmids which is pretty much magic, you got a ton of different things. From fire ice and telekinesis to throwing bee's at people.

Not only is the game interesting it's also probably one of the best looking games out. Everything is unique and pretty to look at.

Prolly my favorite game for the xbox 360 at the moment, anyone else get it?

I've read lots of reviews, and it seems like Bioshock is one of the best FPS ever, even if it isn't that good in the 360 version (worse graphic, joypad instead of mouse+keyboard, no mods, more expensive), in fact I'll buy the PC version. I read that its plot is really amazing, has a really good AI and it isn't the classical "shoot without thinking" game. I've even heard that someone (not fanboys, but professionists) consider it the best FPS ever, and maybe the best game in the world.
And since its plot is the most intresting part, I'll tell you this:

If you spoil the final of the game, or an important part of the plot, you'll get a direct ban.

Heck I'm not even at the end of the game. It's got some really good twists. Oh and about the worse graphics thing..thats only so if your playing the game on a very high end pc (looks like someone might've gone to gamespot and checked out the comparison as I did) this game requires alot of thinking..its great.

I only have the demo so far but the graphics are nothing short of awesome. The fire for example is like Def Jam Icon thanks to Unreal Engine 3, the game is nearly photo realistic ! :o
Best of all, it runs awesomely on my 8600GT at 1280x1024.

8600GT? I hope the main purpose of your computer is NOT gaming.

>_>...I hope you don't own an name brand gaming pc..because that would be just as funny.

Just a question, isn't that kinda disrespectful

I think its just plain out rude personally.

and I'll only go back to Pc gaming myself only if i build my own computer...because anythign meant for gaming should be made personally by the gamer himself...my rule of thumb is "My specs, my rules"

"It's a truth universally acknowledged that a PC gamer must be in want of a good VGA" is the rule. And the 8600GT is an entry level VGA that isn't supposed to run games like bioshock.
It was a simple suggestion: I HATE to see people that waste their money because they aren't informed about computer hardware, and I try to help them. I might sound rude, but it's better than nothing.

Only reason why I got the 8600GT is because my motherboard died a couple of months ago, had to replace *everything* and had very little money to do so. I think some of you would agree a Core 2 Duo E2160, Albatron 8600GT, 2GB DDR2 Kingston memory and a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 for $445 (US) isn't bad. Besides, it runs BioShock at full settings and at a decent framerate, anything beyond that just grants you bragging rights. And I don't know what you're talking about with the "entry level", the 8600GPU is mid to high-end range. 8300s and 8400s are the entry levels.

EDIT: It may seem surprising, but this card whoops most others I see around, it gives a SLI 6600GT setup a run for it's money.

I don't know if it's a good price, I'm not informed about american prices. And I would have chosen a 2GB Team Group 667mhz (they're cheaper), AM2 Motherboard (cheaper than 775 ones) and a X1950pro instead of 8600GT (*MUCH* faster). Try to run Staker or Supreme commander, you will soon realize that the 8600gt is everything but a mid-high VGA.

Mm, I will be getting a better graphics card soon enough, but I have more pressing priorities at hand, such as a new CPU, new case, and a new laptop.
