Writing posts/fanfics etc in Microsoft word then copy-pasting them into BS may be god idea. That’s what I will be doing from now on. The advantages:
MS word has an excellent spelling/grammar check, and explains the more subtle aspects of grammar. Great for those who English is a second language or who aren’t great at spelling/grammar. You can add nmes such as Aniu to the dictionary
You can save it as you go and so not loose everything you have typed by accident, and then delete it when it is safely posted.
After you have typed the main body of the text you can copy-paste it into BS then add extras such as polls, similes, colour etc.
(From my experience text fonts colours and sizes don’t copy)

Well, you can write it directly into the website, and make it up there and then, since you don't have to finish and send in the fanfic that very day. You can even send it, and edit later on. So, technically it isn't mandatory

Actually, it really does help. Not only with grammar and spell check, but it also serves as a secondary back-up. I know there's already a back-up system on the site, but eh, everything's vulnerable. ^^ Thanks Suka-good points Sheba

Togo wrote: Instead of MS Word, which is very expensive, you could use Open Office instead, which is as good as MS one and it's totally free. Back to the suggestion: it's also possible to use a FireFox extension that automatically underlines typos (the "English dictionary" extension). But still most of the times it's better to use a dedicated program. I use my own writing program, one I made and designed myself. Took me about a year, but it has a dictionary of over 500,000 words (this is the complete number of words, any language). When I'm finished with inserting the latin dictionary into it, I can send secret messages *evil grin* But yeah, MS Word is expensive, however it's still the best writing program, as it recieves regular updates.

I used to write with Word, but since I got Openoffice I don't see any reason to go back. It's more or less the same.
