I say animal and human life is equal.
Even if religions say it isn't they're wrong in my point of view.
Here's stuff to show you how heartless us humans are. I found these comments on a Barbaro video on Youtube:
"Horses don't go to heaven. They go to the glue factory!"
" It died of a broken leg? What a worthless animal."
"It's just a (Insert Swearing) horse."

And some on Pitbull videos:
"These animals are stupid little creatures! I was attacked by a big dog once. They're deadly I HATE them!"
" Animals don't go to heaven. The bible says so. So stop wasting your time."
You wanna know my replies? Then look here:
"Shut your mouth you fools. Not all of us believe in it."

I can see this turning into a flame war, but I'm just going to reply nicely.

The last bit of your post does offend me a lot, since I do believe in the Bible. But I'll get off of that subject and point my view.

I don't believe that animals go to the same heaven as us ((although they might)), but I do think they have feelings. For everyone who doesn't believe this, I'll give an example. Look at cats. You can tell when they're angry. My cat is angry at us when we leave her alone too much. She's also happy sometimes and peaceful. These are all things that we humans feel, right? So it seems like animals do have feelings.

That's just my view

Yeah, maybe they go to a different heaven then us, who really knows. But I agree with you, when we die, we'll know where they go.

Yeah I think if they go to a different place than us they go into a perfect little paradise and cross the rainbow bridge. Unless they stay earthbound.

If there is a Heaven, or a Rainbow Bridge (which I believe there is something like on the "other side") I have no doubt that of course animals have souls and can go there. It wouldn't be Heaven without them! How could we not reunite with all our lost pets?! To quote Robert Louis Stevenson:

I don't think it wise to go into the extremely touchy area of religion and beliefs, really...but I agree with you, that life is equal. It's precious and should be cherished, no matter whether it's encased in fur or feather or skin or what. As far as the religious matter, it's also my view that people will say anything they WANT to be the case is right "because God (or Allah or whomever) said so." How easy is that? But how do you know what others don't, who are you exactly to go around telling everyone what's "true"?! I certainly won't take something for the absolute truth blindly without using my own reason to determine if it makes sense to me or not, just because the people who wrote the Bible "said so." And my own conception of God is not someone who would want anyone to act that way.

Those YouTube comments were left by stupid, ignorant imbeciles of the sort that plague the Internet relentlessly. Typically they're looking to pick a fight by saying the most extremely brainless, horrid things possible.

Where do folks get the idea that the Bible says animals don't go to heaven? Please, if someone can find me a chapter and verse that says that, I'd be willing to read it. As a matter of fact, my interpretation of the Bible would seem to indicate that animals do go to heaven.

Certainly, I'm not going to make the argument that animals have souls that can be redeemed in the same way that human beings do. I don't believe that Jesus Christ died to redeem all the mosquitoes and poodles and killer whales around the earth. However, they are all the creations of a loving God (see Genesis 1:20-25). In this way, I believe that God watches over the animals, especially our pets and animal friends (see Matthew 10:29). In God's kingdom, I believe we will be reunited with out animal companions. The following passage seems relevant:

"The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them." (Isaiah 11:6)



Now, I certainly don't believe that all animal life is equatable to all human life. If it was a choice between hitting a rabbit in the road and swerving into oncoming traffic, endangering both myself and others, I'm certainly going to hit the rabbit. I'll feel very badly about it, but I believe my own life and the lives of other citizens to certainly be worth "more". In the same way, if I had to make a choice between shooting my mother and shooting a wolf, I'm going to shoot the wolf, no questions asked. On the other hand, if I have an opportunity to physically stop a person who is torturing a dog, I'm going to do it. If that requires me to pull a gun on someone, I'm going to do it to defend my dog. For me, it's all a hierarchy of importance to me. My family and pets are more important to me than strangers. Strangers are more important than wild animals. Certain wild animals are more important than other wild animals. I'm sorry if this offends you, but I simply cannot value one life the same as any other. This doesn't mean, of course, that I react callously toward animal life: in truth, I value animal life very greatly and my life is greatly enriched by animals' presence in it. However, I believe that human beings are generally worth more and ought to generally be saved over and above animals.1

That's a nice passage, HrryNrmn. It's not the Bible we were bashing...it's only people who refer to it to "justify" ignorant and ridiculous claims about animals that aren't actually supported at all.
(And I mostly agree with you...if it came down to it personally I'd probably do the same things.)

I get it's your opinion and I respect that. It's just that not all humans have to think the same. Imagine what that would be? If one of us bombed the other the other would bomb us at the same time then man would be dead O.o I'm a crazy person in general so yeah. It's pretty odd to be hearing this coming from me.
