Am I the only person who's yet to hear about these? I was on doggysnaps today and found a gorgeous wolf-like dog called Ayaska. I messaged his owner asking what breed he was and she told me about Tamaskans. They're a mixture of German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky bred to look like the wolf. So, they're motto is "Wolfdog without the wolf" I think it's excellent! It means you can own a wolf (or at least what looks like a wolf) without needing a license! This is their website: http://www.tamaskan-dog.comThere are other links there such as Britain's Tamaskan society and America's. I'm going to do some more looking into these and may consider getting my paws on one when I leave home. Well, depending on my circumstances.

Wow. That's a very beautiful, interesting breed. I too found out about one of my "new favorite breeds" online. (They're called Silken Windhounds, which are a sort of 'miniature Borzoi,' a cross of Borzoi and Whippet, to create a small/medium-sized long-haired sighthound.) Quite brilliant, some of these combinations.

hmm... this is going to be a little of the topic but i know a very similar dog breed to tamaskan dog. it is called Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, maybe you have heard of it. looks a lot like a wolf too. it is a mixture of German Shepherd and carpathian wolf. it is my favorite dog breed.

Oh yes, heard of those. They're actual wolfdogs though being crossed with wolves. Tamaskans may look similar to Czech Wolfdogs but they have no wolf in them.

They are cute and all, but I'm not crazy about them. I'm more into Goldens and Collies. And they really do look like a wolf. o.O And coolio, it has German Shepherd in it. I bet they'are alot of money. I wonder how hyper they are and what their additude is like.
