Who are your real-life heroes and why? info and links much appreciated!

Why HE'S MY DAD! he did many great things including: starting and running 2 successful textile factories, starting a waterfowl sanctuary called Castle Espie, he went on one of Sir Peter Scott's*expeditions to collect goose eggs(for Castle Espie). he had many hobbies including water-skiing, motorbike racing. And now, studying minuscule shells called Marginellas, he discovers new species and names them, and has jointly written papers on them with a friend. he also had our yacht Marina Em built for us (named after me), and sailed us from the UK to NZ.

Shaun Ellis The wolfman, wolf conservationist and naturalist, he gave up all comforts to bring up 3 wolf cubs to behave like real wolves.
Why? All of the above plus I have a crush on him(I find long hair on men attractive)!

Why? I admire him for his conservation work with waterfowl, and his paintings of them.

Why? when his ship The Endurance was crushed by ice he made sure every man survived.

I have to concur with DragonRider,and say Balto and Togo.

All of my friends.. well, those that have stuck by me at least.
Particularly Jenny, I've known her since preschool.

And family but yeah, you hardly get to choose that xD

My pets and people who work against animal cruelty who I one day hope to join.

Hm.. My great-grandpa is one. He fought in WWII and was just an amazing person.

Another is someone I work with. In a sense. It's more of I look up to her, though. But she's awsome and is always there for me when I need it. She's like a mom/older friend/sister all in one. :]

I really don't have any more. lol I've never really thought of people as a "hero" before. XD !! But meh. Whatever.
