You can read the first part here: http://baltosource.timduru.org/balto-ac ... g-901.htmlOr read it in this topic. Hello. As some of you may have noticed, I made a roleplay using the same title. Now I've started the creation of the fanfic. It will contain two known characters from the Balto movies. And sorry about the colour changes from the original roleplay, but I switched the descriptions on the real RP by accident, so I'm correcting it here. Here is what I've written of it so far. Please leave comments What is life?
A story...
Chapter One
Long time ago, a female wolf ran freely in the world. She had seen much, and what she had yet to see was soon to come. Destined, she was. A symbol of hope for the humans, and a symbol of despair to many others as well. She traversed Alaska, and even through its outskirts. For a year, she was travelling, completely alone... completely... Then one day, she returned to her old pack. She travelled through the mountains, a shorter route, to get there. An accident occurred, and she fell down a cliff. She woke up, amongst rocks and dust. Her paw was aching. Aching... pain. She was still alive. Deeper, further inside her, a feeling of despair stirred, and she suppressed the pain. Standing up, she began moving towards the packlands again.
Two months, it took her. Two months, of nothing but walking, hunting and sleeping. She then caught the familiar scent of her brethren, and there they were. The pack. However, something seemed.... unfamiliar. She started investigating.
She walked slowly into the pack, and looked around. All the wolves were staring at her, watching her. She felt uncomfortable. «Well, look who's back!» someone exclaimed. The she-wolf stared at the big, and black wolf in front of her. «Where is the alpha?» she asked the stranger wolf. He laughed. «There has been a change of leadership, my dear. Your beloved one is no longer.» he said. The she-wolf couldn't believe it, and she remembered too well the day she left. «Karn,» she had said to him. «Please do not stop me. There is so much to see, so much to experience!» The grey wolf named Karn peered at her from the mouth of his cave. «I forbid it, my love... You might get killed. It is foolish!» he barked. A crowd had gathered around them. The she-wolf was crying. «You don't understand, Karn. I-» «I rest my case. You are not allowed to leave!» Karn interrupted her. «Please, don't leave... Jonapah.»They had a fight, before she left without his permission. To know that he is no more.... it hurt her. The she-wolf, named Jonapah, stared into the eyes of the black wolf. She saw his greed, corruption. She saw too that he was the one to execute Karn, and took his leadership. In fury, she raged at him, attacking him... hurting him. She wanted to let him feel her anger, her sorrow. But she was easily taken down by the new alpha. «Oh, no you won't.» he said, laughing. «Guards, take this... mutt to her old cave!» As he spoke, two wolves, both scarred over the right eye, came and escorted her. The scars were symbols of the new leader, and apparently he has marked all of his guards with it... Two months later. Jonapah had still not been able to adapt to her new life, and her new mate; Chay tried to make her as comfortable as possible. Jonapah was no longer looking like the cheerful wolf she once was... She was a medium-sized, brown wolf. Her face is a little scarry, and her eyes are yellow, with a black pupil, except for the right one, which bears a wound from her travels, and she has reduced sight on it. Jonapah's fur was raggy, and you wouldn't believe she was about four years old. Chay is white, with some black marks on his fur. He was big and strong, not afraid to fight for Jonapah. His eyes were light-blue. He decided enough had to be enough, and headed for Soldan's den... Soldan was the name of the tyrant alpha.

Next part is done! For those who's reading, please leave comments.
Chay walked over to the den, and passed the guards there, and entered. «Soldan!» he said. «I've come here to talk.» He heard movements at the back of the cave, and a yawn. «Well, certainly, Chay.» the evil wolf said. Chay still hated the looks of that monster. A big, giant of a wolf, with black fur, and lots of scars after he killed Karn. He remembered the last two months.
Chay walked up to Jonapah after the guards had left her in the cave. «Hey, Jonapah...» he said. The she-wolf looked away from him. «I'm not going to hurt you or anything... I'm just here to talk.» This she-wolf could be hard to calm down again, he thought. «You know... After you left, the pack was in a complete uproar. Karn stopped all the wolves from going after you. He feared you'd be killed.» he said, then he gazed at Jonapah, hoping for her to react and allow him to finish speaking. She didn't try to stop him, nor did she walk away. «There is, a certain place in every living creature's heart, that contains deep love for somebody, even though you might not know it. He loved you, Jonapah. Until the very end... his last words, were even meant for you to hear.» Jonapah looked up at Chay. «Last... words?» she asked, trying to hide her crying. Chay nodded. «Yes. His last words were of love, meant for you. He wanted you not to grief over his loss. He wanted you to be happy, whereever you are. Before Soldan managed to kill him off, he also said; 'Jonapah, I love you...'...» He gazed down at Jonapah again, and saw tears streaming down her face. So, it was true. We wolves can cry if the emotional impact is hard enough, he thought. But he shook it away. This wasn't the time to be asking himself questions.
A month had passed since then, and Chay and Jonapah were now considered a couple. Mates, perhaps. They were inseparable, and whenever Jonapah was sad, in distress or frustrated, Chay would be there for her. But Soldan had convinced every wolf in the pack, except for Chay, that they should be unfriendly to Jonapah and him. There were two wolves, who attempted to be kind to them, and they were exiled. During the next month, Jonapah went through a lot of hardships, and ultimately, today, she fell down on the cave floor and couldn't move. She was crying.
Chay took a deep breath. «Soldan, I request that you stop your madness... Jonapah can barely take it anymore. Please ask the wolves to quit their harrassing.» he said, nearly begging. Soldan seemed to enjoy it. Chay decided that it's be best if he looked around a bit, to get familiar with this den, as he had a hunch he'd be coming here again. «No, I cannot. You see, Jonapah is still not finishing taking her 'punishment'.» he answered Chay. «But - » «No 'but''s, that's final.» Soldan interrupted, and lead Chay out the exit. Mutt, Chay thought furiously. He headed back to Jonapah's cave, but she wasn't there anymore. Ack, where'd she go now? he thought. Then he began searching for her.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The packlands is vast, filled with all kinds of creatures, and dangers. It is mainly consisting of a big forest, claimed by the pack that lives there. Where the pack now lives, there are several caves inside a mountain, which are all connected by a ''road'' that moves deep into it. There are even stairs, to take the wolves to the upper levels, and even on top of the mountain. There were signs that cavemen had once lived there, and the inside of the mountain was nearly as big as a city. The main cave, which went deep into the mountain split up in several directions, on different locations. The outside of it, is a green forest. Filled with all kinds of tree's and other plants. At the area where the pack lives, there are glowing ''orb'' floating around in the air, and the sun shines through the treetops. Not far from it, is a small lake where the wolves enjoy hanging out, and just relaxing. It also serves as their main source of water. It lies in a open area amongst the tree's, and the sun is allowed to fill the entire area without trouble. This was there Jonapah had gone to, and there she found Teru... an exile of the pack.
Teru was sitting away for the packlands because the new alpha exiled him. He was sitting down with a lowered tail, staring at the image of himself in the lake. He shook his head from side to side. He felt horrrible. "Father..." Teru whispered to himself. In the meanwhile, Jonapah had arrived at the lake, and was standing behind Teru. Poor wolf, she thought, as she saw his tears. Teru laid down, and rested his head on his forepaws. «Father, why did this happen to me?» he whispered to himself. «Teru? What're you doing?» Jonapah asked, and Teru got up, surprised. «Jona? I could ask you the same...» he answered, not quite able to hide his tears.

Next part up ^^
«Teru? What're you doing?» Jonapah asked, and Teru got up, surprised. «Jona? I could ask you the same...» he answered, not quite able to hide his tears. Jonapah frowned. «I asked first.» she said. Peering searchingly at her, Teru seemed to give up. «I'm banished from the pack... because – er – I kinda didn't catch any food, I think Soldan's (that mutt) reason was...» he spoke, finally. «Y – wh – he what?» Jonapah was in disbelief. As far as she knew, not catching any food for the pack, at least when a hunt fails, shouldn't be punished by banishment. It was a rule, made by Karn. Then she saw him stick his head underwater. Is he drowning himself? she thought, and grabbed his neck, pulling him up again. «That's not the solution to your problems, Teru!» she muffled through her mouth full of neckskin and fur. When she finally released, Teru wasn't trying to put his head underwater again. «I'll talk to Soldan in person later, and everything'll be al- » «He was the one who banished me!» Teru interrupted. «I know, Teru. Please calm down.» she said, a little annoyed, and she glared at him. Teru was a brown wolf, with a hint of white on his paws, golden eyes and black claws. And a.. Jonapah gasped! «Teru! What's happened to your tail?!» she asked, in shock. Teru's tail was once long, now it was short and bloody. But Teru was already moving away, and she grabbed his neck once again, and pulled him down on the ground. «Ow, that hurts!» Teru whimpered. «Live with it,» she said. «as you need to get your tail treated.» She didn't have time to say more, because she heard a faint howl, whom she recognized. Nalachea! she thought happily. Just in time! And then she howled back to her, to acknowledge that she was arriving. About a minute passed, and then Jonapah saw Nala clearly in view. She was a big, black wolf with light-brown eyes. She was slim, and had a shining fur, and was also carrying a silver necklace, which couldn't be described. «Nala!» Jonapah barked. «Just in time, I need your help here!» Nalachea raised her eyebrow. «What help?» she asked. Then she saw Teru's tail, and realized. «I just need your help to keep Teru here, while I run off to fetch some herbs to treat him with.» Jonapah seemed to be in a hurry. Nodding, Nalachea laid down beside Teru, watching him, as Jonapah ran off.
During her long travels, Jonapah had run into Balto, Jenna and Kodi. They had asked her to come with them to Nome, and being as hungry and exhausted as she was she gladly accepted. And she stayed there for longer than she'd thought. Listening, and watching the doctor there, she learned a lot about herbs, and their uses. But the nearest herb-field in the packlands was more than a two-minute run. And deep inside the forest, many other packs of wolves had gathered... waiting for an opportunity. To strike.

Next part up.
Some minutes later, Jonapah returned, and in her mouth, she held a small bouquet of flowers. "Sit still, this might hurt." she said, as she began chewing on the flowers, and made sure to put all of the, now crushed, flowers around Teru's broken tail. "This'll prevent and kill any infections... I hope. But by the looks of it, you won't be getting your tail back to how it was." She frowned, cursing Soldan under her breath.
Nalachea peered at the scene for a moment, then she noticed Jonapah's gaze at her, clearly saying «What's happened to you?». So, she told them of what had happened, and that she was banished about a month after Teru. Jonapah didn't seem so surprised anymore. «You too, huh?» she said, simply. Nalachea nodded.
Suddenly, Teru had begun to whimper. And Jonapah soon understood why; Soldan. He was there, by the lake.
Chapter Two
Chay looked peered around, and with a slight grin, he padded his way up to his beloved mate. He cared for Jonapah more then he cared for himself. She was his life, and without her, he had no meaning. She made the darkest days seem bright, the coldest, warm, and he would do ANYTHING to make her happy. Chay smiled and his eyes seemed to light up when he saw Jonapah. "Jona, my dear," Chay said, and nuzzled his mate softly. "How are you?" He would always ask that. If she was the slightest bit sad, he would have to make it go away. He wanted her life to be perfect, no matter what was instore for himself. «I'm fine, you cuddle-bear» she would answer to that. Not anymore, though...
Chay could smell Jonapah, with two other wolves. He could also smell Soldan and his minions nearby them. He was glad that he'd asked his adoptive sister, Nightrise, to stay away from the pack until Soldan's regime fell. Which means, he can focus on one thing. Keeping Jonapah from harm.
*
Teru is the son of Karn, but still not related to Jonapah. He was from another litter, and it was he who's father had picked to inherit the title of Alpha Male, when Karn passed away. However, that was not how Soldan had imagined it. One day, Soldan and many other wolves invaded the packlands, and attacked Karn. He fought valiantly, and there were marks of battle everywhere... however, he was strongly outnumbered, and lost. Chay fought for him as well, but it made no difference. With his last breath, Karn asked the young male who had fought beside him, to give Jonapah his last words. Teru had watched as Soldan made the final strike against his father, and took away his life. This hatred now burns within him...

Only a short update this time:
With a great snarl, Teru charged at Soldan, who was oblivious to the attacker when he struck. Soldan was overthrown, and Teru immediately aimed for his throat. «Guards, guards!» Soldan yelled. «Come quick!» Then he used his paw, and hit Teru in the head, with such an impact that the poor wolf nearly flew half a meter backwards. In fury, Soldan ran towards the fallen wolf. «I thought I banished you!» he yelled as he tried to bite Teru's neck, and overthrow him again. But Teru used his agility to dodge. «Yes, you did!» he yelled at the Tyrant, but in the moment before he could run a deadly attack, Jonapah jumped in between then, giving Teru a gaze that he would never forget. She was disappointed in him... not just disappointed, but also sad. Sad over what the once proud youth had become. The fight had occurred nearly at the water's edge, and she knew Soldan could easily kill Teru, and his guards had arrived again. «What is the meaning of this?!» one of them barked. Jonapah shook her head. «Nothing now, I will – Nala!» Nalachea had charged one of the guards, knocking him over. «Restrain her!» Soldan commanded, and before she knew it, Nalachea was lying on the ground, with one guard making sure she stayed that way.

Finally got the time to do an update!
---------------------------------------------------- Nalachea, you fool. That was Jonapah's thoughts at that moment. «I'll take care of her punishment as well as Teru, Soldan.» she said, walking over to Nalachea, grabbing her neck and dragging her with her. She gave Teru a kick in his side, and motioned for him to follow as well. But things didn't turn out exactly as he had planned. Teru decided to attack again, and he charged Soldan again, biting his skull. But he was quickly subdued by Jonapah again. «Enough of this!» she yelled at him. But Teru still didn't let go. His grip on Soldan's skull had gone, replaced with his paw. Teru was increasing the pressure on his jaws, trying to crush the paw, and Jonapah sank her teeth into his muzzle. «Enough! Enough fighting!» she nearly screamed through her grip, and finally the pain was too much for poor Teru, who let go, and rubbed his muzzle with painful movements. «That's it!» Soldan yelled. «If I, or my guards, ever see you here again, you will be executed!» Blood was dripping from his paw, and he turned tail and walked away. «Why don't you bite off my ears while you're at it?!» Teru yelled after him, but there was no response. In anger, Teru charged at Soldan once again, grabbing his neck, but this time, the Alpha was too quick for him, moving slightly downwards, so the attacker could not get a firm grip, turning around. Teru lost his grip, and found himself pinned on the ground by the one he wanted to attack, bitten on his chest. «Serves you right...» Soldan grunted, but he couldn't say anything else, because he had just been bitten on his paw again, and thrown down into the lake.
Jonapah hurried over to them, but something did not feel right. Whenever she moved, she felt number, until... Screaming in pain, she fell over, twitching and twirling in panic and fear. Never had she felt something like this before, and it hurt. The pain which was coming from her paw, added to the stress of today's events, made her faint. The darkness in her vision was engulfing her, and she heard Soldan crawl out of the lake, then everything disappeared.
