I completely agree. However, some people needs to talk about how bad their life is. If they talk about it, it becomes easier to handle, so in reality, I support sympathy/whine threads. Not a certain (now banned) persons' one, though. Made a suggestion in the Suggestions section to cope with this (I hope).

Anyway, well thought-out rant, but with a few holes. I couldn't agree more, but I rest my first post here.

For the most part I agree. Right now there is only one topic like that that - in my opinion - isn't completely worthless.


That topic I found dumb, yes.

But like Wolflux said, sometimes people do need to get things off of their chest. Believe it or not, there are quite a few people here who "only have friends at BaltoSource". And it's litterally bad for your heath to keep everything boxed up inside. So the people just venting a little and actually do have a lot going on I'm okay with. But the person like you mentioned, well that's just spam.

I see your intentions, but that is steet's job to decide whether or not that these types of threads are to be banned from the other section. Some peoples lives may not be hip and dandy, as yours might be, that is why they come here, to make friends and forget about their troubles. you must come to understand that, starfire.

Well, you don't have to read them, first of all. Perhaps it's just difficult to fathom how hard other people are getting it, so our -- yes, OUR -- opinions have its level of bias in them. Second, not all people who make a thread about it are doing it to get attention. Some just need a few genuine words of encouragement to help them get through. That's all. So is asking for a few sympathies really much to ask for?

And really. The arguement that this is a kids' Balto site is becoming a very hackneyed reason. Of course we know it is. People state it in just about every rant. I have yet to see a thread you've mensioned that is not "kid-friendly". Believe it or not, kids below the age of 16 ARE capable of making people older than them feel better.

Forgive me if I sound harsh. You make it seem that everyone who posts their problems do so to gain attention. Therefore, I humbly ask you to think before you judge...

I agree with Suka about this. And somehow with Wolflux. Like they say " please go and complain to the nearest wall", this wall beein this site. Or other, whatever.
First of all, you aren't forced to read it, why just avoid it, sheesh, it's an open site, members are allowed to rant, complain, and tell them what bothers them, and if you're not interested in reading it, well it's your problem. You can't go and say "HEY STOP POSTING IT, IT'S ANNOYING" .

And I've seen lots of people complaining about others that they post topics about depression, family issues or personal ones.. and about ShoutBox depression talks... And trust me, it's tiring =/...

I disagree. Sometimes people do it for attention, yes but, usually when that happens it shows.

This is a kids site yes, but, kids do have some problems as well!XD Also, like Suka said, just because one member is younger than another doesn't mean they aren't able to help out. =P

I honestly do not have a problem with people who make topics about having problems at home ect. as long there is no swearing or too graphic description. (Graphic description doesn't bother me much but, it may bother others so it's better to just not go into detail)

So, in conclusion, people should have the right and feel free to post problems in the "Other" section as long as it doesn't break the rules and isn't obviously a cry for attention...

If you're still scared that someone will find you and kill you, you need to log off the internet and never return. Ever.

Sharing personal information is fine. People do it to relate to each other. If you don't want to take part, simply don't share a word.
