Now, thanks to these lucky, recent, and highly important viewings of mine, I'll (thankfully) be able to post more Balto-related things on this site more often from now on, and I must admit, that they are (and ESPECIALLY the first one) truly great classics definitely worthy of public approval!!!!! Here are my comments on each of the following movies: Balto- First off, let me begin by saying that I swear that that Star surely is something else... he's absolutely doggone (pun intended) HILARIOUS!!!!! It seems as if almost every single time he tries to make a statement, he gets bonked on the head comedically (or, in one instance, given an uppercut to the jaw since he was blocking his head with his forearms at the time); reminds me perfectly of a classic Saturday morning cartoon like Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry!!!!! Also quite funny were the two friendly polar bears (Muk and Luk), Boris (the classic sidekick who has practically everything bad possible happen to him [think about the time near the beginning of the film when a butcher mistakes him for being a skinned chicken or the time later on when he mistakes a flake of soap for a potato chip and belches out a bubble or two... LOL!]), and Dixie (the small, purple-furred female dog who enjoys flirting with Steele); Balto, Jenna, Rosie (both old and young), her granddaughter, the telegraph operator's pug, most of the other random dogs, and even Steele himself either acted funny and/or said at least one sly/slick line at some point in time in the movie themselves!!! (I actually thought that old Rosie complaining near the beginning of the film about her not being able to find the statue of Balto a little funny myself!) Next of all, I'd like to say that I think that seeing this movie again (for my second time in just over a decade!) was an awful lot better than when I first saw it (when you're only five years old, it's a pretty difficult task to understand a movie fully and to the point at such a young age); young Rosie in particular was especially adorable for an animated human child (mainly because of her voice and big, round, Disney-esque, bunny rabbit eyes), Jenna is a hottie (yeah, that's right, I said it, she's truly a genuinely attractive female dog; besides, if I'm saying this comment as a HUMAN, then you could only IMAGINE how Balto [or any other longing male canine, for that matter of fact] feels about her personally ), Steele looks (and acts) somewhat eerily similar to Scar from The Lion King, Boris is kinda' awkward for a goose and is also a bit clumsy as well, and Balto himself is "One straight-up, smooth dude, yo!" (hmmm... now doesn't that distinct character trait strangely compare to yet another fictional dog promoted by this site... *Looks at my avatar as a reminder.* ), simply put. ;D Finally, one final word about it all- it ROCKS and definitely rivals All Dogs Go to Heaven in the animated cartoon/film industry!!!!!
Balto 2: Wolf Quest- A far cry from its predecessor, this originally DTV sequel suffers in the quality, content, and storyline department mainly due to one major fallback- its ridiculous lack of a plotline. To make a good movie, you need a plot (and a good one at that), and without a central, easily-understood, underlying plotline for the story, than the movie's sure to be an almost-guaranteed flop; Balto 2 is just that. Most of the time, if I didn't grasp what exactly was going on during the film, I found myself constantly asking myself either the question: "Now where exactly did THAT/HE/SHE/IT come from?!?" or the question: "Where did that/he/she/it disappear/go off to now?!?" Basically, because of those big, problematic reasons alone, I would not encourage viewing this film to anyone who has not already seen it before for their own sakes, safety, well-being, morale, etc., as they will most likely be disappointed altogether with the film in its overall entirety.
Balto 3: Wings of Change- I soon figured out where the main titular phrase comes from- the fact that Boris gets a girlfriend and the appearance of that new airplane (and its pilot, Duke). In all, I probably only missed about one-fourth of the whole movie (for some unknown explanation, its YouTube poster wasn't consistent enough with his film segment recordings...), but still (thankfully) not enough to ruin the entire theatrical experience for me! Nonetheless, I must say that Stella is pretty stellar for a female goose companion, Kodiak/Kodi is pretty much the "average" teenage male who doesn't always agree with his father's wishes (but not as bad as that peskily annoying "average" teenage female Aleu was in the second film ; sometimes, I actually wished she would have been slain by that bear-spirit and met her demise there and then or had fallen off of that cliff edge to her impending doom, etc. so she would be utterly forced to shut that big mouth of hers up permanently for just once in her life... ). Well, I guess you know what they say: "Like father, like son!" Ultimately, this movie had the one thing that the previous sequel lacked- a decent plotline to complete the story and tell the tale as it goes. Oh, and BTW, did you know that the same guy who voiced that large, husky, gray-white furred sled dog (the one with the naturally deep voice) also voices Patrick Star (the starfish) in the Spongebob Squarepants cartoon and movie adaptation??? ??? Sure enough, he does!!! Well then, that's my say on the Balto film series collection; I now have nothing more to say. -Charles A. Wolf.

Notice how as you watched these movies in chronological order, the sequence is as follows:
Great > Suck > Bearable
Maybe the third one is also horrible. I can't tell because Wolf Quest will make just about anything else look like a friggin' masterpiece.
I'll have to watch them backwards next time. Next time I'm feeling brave, that is.

I must say, that out of the three movies, I enjoyed Balto 2: Wolf Quest more than anything. Then again, I'm spiritual and believe in Shamanism, so that's only natural. I understood more of the movie than most, I guess. Balto 3: Wings of Change, was poking my alert-button. It has a decent storyline, but god... that Stella. She alone should've rated the film PG16! "I'm a goose, with the juice".... Is this really a children's movie?
So, out of all the three movies, these are my rankings:
Shared 1st place: Balto and Balto 2: Wolf Quest 2nd place: Balto 3: Wings of Change.

Is this really a children's movie? Balto 1 had its moment too. Skip to the part where Balto is just rescued from the frozen river. Jenna cuddles Balto to warm him up. The camera shifts to Boris who looks over at the two and says something along the lines of: "I'm seeing a few things too, and it's making the ice melt." Of course, kids aren't going to understand comedy like this. They don't even expect it.

In addition, I think he meant that she loved him ^^

Of course, kids aren't going to understand comedy like this. They don't even expect it. Oh really??? Well, I don't rightfully recollect hearing THAT one... Oh well... it either means one of two possible things, one of which was already just mentioned, the other... well, you know... Anyhow, you have to admit, that the line that you mentioned Boris saying was probably not nearly as noticeable (or as offensive) as some of Stella's lines from Balto 3, now, right??? -Charlie.
