A quote off of my Rogues website that I posted because this is kinda irritating.

Guys, please, keep these in mind, because I don't like reading posts from other people that have bad grammar.

Now uhm, you guys still think I'm stupid and I can't conjure up a decent post with good grammar? And no. I did NOT steal this off some site I plucked from Google. I'm smarter than that.

Either way people, please pay attention to this when you post, because most people get annoyed by the SMS on the FORUMS (not boxes and website). As steet's signature says - This is a forum, NOT a mobile.

"Most of you think that I'm stupid because I use SMS. Turns out, for my age, I probably have better grammar than all of you. So, here are some tips to remember when roleplaying smart:

1- Abbreviations.
Do not = don't
Will not = won't
You are = you're
It is = It's
Have not = haven't
Can not = can't
Would not = wouldn't
Should not = shouldn't
I will = I'll
Is not = Isn't
Are not = Aren't
etc
Get it? In place of the "o" is an apostrophe ('). The space has been removed.

2- Possessive Forms.
Most people use "your" in the place of "you're". Please do NOT. "Your" is the possessive form, showing that you or someone else owns something, eg "You left your skates at my house". "You're" is showing "you" and "are" put together (see above), eg "You're such a dumbass".
Get that yet?
Same with the "its". "Its" is possessive and "it's" is not.

3- Apostrophes, semi colons and paranthesis.
First of, about apostrophes ('). This is not an apostrophe ("), that is a quote. Apostrophes should be including in every abbreviation or else it doesn't make sense.
Second. Semi Colon = ; . They are there if you're not sure whether to put a period or a comma. Technically, it's both, eg "I'm going to the mall; maybe I'll pick up a smoothie on the way out." It makes sense with both a period and a comma.

4- Spelling.
This really bugs me. If you don't know how to spell a word, look it up on google. Type it in as best you can and if you're close, google will correct you.
Then comes nouns. Persons and places are always capitalized, eg "RayJ" or "Colorado". It bugs me when people call me "rayj".
Then there comes words which sound alike but aren't spelled the same, eg "Breaks" and "Brakes", "Hear" and "Here", "Weather" and "Whether", "There", "Their" and "They're", "Too", "To" and "Two". Make sure to get those right.

5- Commas and Conjunctions.
DO NOT overuse conjunctions, eg "and", "but", etc (I THINK but is one). Replace them with commas (NOT comas, those are the things you fall into for years and years and then die). Like so, "She went to the store and shopped for coffee and after that left." say "She went to the store and shopped for coffee, and after that left". etc.

YES, I AM a grammar freak, even though I don't look like it.
Make sure to use these tips when you're rping, cuz it makes you sound smarter :'D"
