I had already thought about that, but an email I received convinced me.

Many people on the site send drawings that have nothing to do with Balto (horses, for example...)

I think that considering it's a Balto site, the drawings should exclusively be about the Balto characters or about wolves. Of course, it's nice to see other pictures from someone talented, but the site is not made for stocking your drawings. Someone who come to a Balto site does not necessarily want to see horses, demons etc...

This is already a rule, but I haven't respected it too much for the moment. If you agree with that, I'll have to remove all the drawings that does not respect that so that everyone is at the same level with that rule. Also, if I do that, I'll allow you to put a link in your gallery to a site that have all of your drawings.

Your opinion?

Mmm seems fair enough. But a question: if somebody requests you to draw their character, are you allowed to post their drawing if it is not a wolf but still a dog? Just wondering.

I have lots of people send me artwork of original characters and other non related Balto art, personally I only display Balto art as there are plenty of online galleries like VCL they can display their other art on.

Mmm...Maybe I'll allow wolves AND dogs then. But that's the limit. Besides, sometimes it's hard to make the difference...


Well, I could have done that, but it's a bit late now; and considering that so many Balto fans love wolves (see the poll on the site?) it wouldn't be fair to forbid that now.
About galleries such as VCL or deviantart, that's why I said they could still ask me to put a link to such a gallery.

YES YES ho yes I have waited for this day for a wile. I think think there should only be fanart about balto and wolfs and mabe foxs.
I also think that this rule should be applyed to the forum and that balto, wolfs and foxs should ONLY be alowed to be put as avatars and sigs.

No, I disagree on that...I don't see any problem with putting a different avatar, especially if people uses the same on all forums.
Do you know that I have a cat in my avatar?

It seems fair but maybe just allow drawings of peoples characters that arent wolves aswell.

I have no problem with wolves, wolf-dogs, dogs, people, geese, etc as long as they are about the movie, but many of them aren't. realistic wolves, I'm fine with, people's characters from role playing, I'm fine with, but Spirit? no.

I agree. I have no problems with you removing previous art that isn't Balto/wolf related in my gallery, most isn't my best anyways.
Anywho I've had that rule on my site for quite a while. Sometimes I'll make an exception for a wolf character, but that's only if the person has mostly Balto art up.

I agree that on Balto Source should be ONLY Balto-related works. Artists have plenty of other web-sites to show off their art, such as DeviantArt, VCL, even TLKFAA.

If they want to talk about something else or look at art that is not balto related they can go to another site. Otherwise what's the point in having a Balto site if it's not focused on Balto?

I said that you will be able to add a link to your "full" gallery on your Balto Source gallery.

Err, I checked your gallery and all your drawings respect that rule (only Balto characters, wolves and dogs...) I must say that many people are already "in law", so it won't change things THAT much.

No, I won't accept more than wolves and dogs. Or that would not mean anything.

Talking about the Lion King Fan Art Archive, they don't accept animals that aren't lion-king related as well...

I think you should allwo non-balto characters that are wolves or dogs. Anything else should not be allowed.

Actually there is a drawing of a horse and some cats in there. But I think those are the only two.
