Okay, in March, I got a call from one of my good friends. I haven't talked to him in awhile so I was like "hey man what's up?" and all happy. He was quiet over the phone and then told me to shut up because he had something to tell me. I got quiet and then he told me that my close friend Stevie, one of the best friend I ever had, committed suicide a week before. At first I thought he was kidding, because that friend is known to be a jokester. Once in the elevator going up to my floor at the hotel I was staying it, it completely hit me, like a ton of bricks. He wasn't kidding, and now I lost him forever. And what's worse, the whole Band and Chorus were staying at the hotel with me. For the next few weeks, they didn't know what to say to me. The upperclassmen from Band and Chorus stopped bullying me but no one wanted to talk to me.

I was talking online with one of them earlier and they asked "honest to god, shouldn't you be over that by now?" It made me think that I should be over it, but I'm not. Every time I find myself having fun or laughing or doing something I love, I feel guilty because he's dead and I'm alive. Sounds corny, I know. But what do you guys think? Should I be over it by now?

Anybody can say you need to get over somethng but they do not understand until they are in your shoes. Frankly Panic, the fact you stil think of him shows your deep care for him which is by no means a bad thing. You have to remember him, people try to push things away and they feel awful and confused, never forget im, sometimes you should just think about him, if you think of him now and gain, a part of him will live on with you, at least that is what I believe. And you wil never be fully over it, a part of you will always miss him.

But remember, nothing is lost until you stop looking for it.

Remember him and think of him now and again and he will neer truly be gone.

My heart goes out to you, I will be here for your comfort if you need me at anytime.

Remember, never forget him and he will never be lost.

I believe this quote works best for this.

"People come in and out of our lives all the time, some stay a while, leave a footprint in our hearts and we are never the same."

No, honestly you will not get over something that profound in your life so quickly. I would suggest some therapy , no one can expect or even try to comprehend something like that by themselves. Its terrible that your friend had to take his life, so often I think sometimes people forget though they themselves may be gone. What about the people who are left behind? It is not wrong to still think of your friend. You miss him and you cared for him deeply and Roxas is right, it just shows that you were an incredible friend and he is sorely missed.

I know how you feel. I'm afraid you can't just 'snap out of it.' It will take time before your grief finally subsides, and you will be able to remember your friend with a smile. Time is a wonderful healer.

Thank you guys so much. You know, you guys are right. It's not stupid to still miss him after these past months. He will always live on, and as we used to say during our songwriting class, and we even wrote it on a wall.

"Love survives"

Because, thanks to you guys, I now remember that it really does.

You know, I always try to be optomistic. Your friend is in a better place now, don't you think? I kinda know how you feel. When I was young, my aunt died of... a headache I think. She has a daughter, who is almost the same age as me, only younger. I don't remember her much, but i like to think of the happy moments. Think of that, good times, see photos, the places you went, funny moments. Be happy for your friend, Stevie is in a good place, watching his friends, and family. He's with God, also. But, it's normal to feel sad, that doesn't really have a cure. It just fades away in time, although nothing is wrong with remembering once in a while. And, we'll be with you. Hope I helped!!

I don't think so, the death of someone close to you is always painful but to find out someone comitted suicide is much more of a shock and naturally it'll take longer to "get over it".

Although I do beleive that no one ever really gets over it, just simply learns to deal with it.

I lost my Aunt in SEPTEMBER. I still feel bad. She was like a Mother to me. She WAS my Mother. I miss her. Whoever said "shouldn't you be over it by now?" is a very ignorant person and honestly must not know how it feels to lose someone very close to them.

Your friend had problems. Problems he must have tohught he couldn't go to anyone with...People do things for reasons that are out of our understanding. But, feel comfort he's at peace now with no more problems...No more of that worry. There's no hurt or suffering. No cheating and lying where he is. And think how happy your friend is now. And how cruel it'd be if he'd still be alive.
