Have any of you ever read these books? A movie about the first book in the series came out about two years ago. It was pretty close to the story of the book, so if you saw that, then you would LOVE these books. I've read every single book, and I own every one of them as well. There are four books in total. I will post the picture and the summary of each book.

1. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

Carmen got the jeans at a thrift shop. They didn't look all that great: they were worn, dirty, and speckled with bleach. On the night before she and her friends part for the summer, Carmen decides to toss them. But Tibby says they're great. She'd love to have them. Lena and Bridget also think they're fabulous. Lena decides that they should all try them on. Whoever they fit best will get them. Nobody knows why, but the pants fit everyone perfectly. Even Carmen (who never thinks she looks good in anything) thinks she looks good in the pants. Over a few bags of cheese puffs, they decide to form a sisterhood and take the vow of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants . . . the next morning, they say good-bye. And then the journey of the pants -- and the most memorable summer of their lives -- begins.

2. The Second Summer of the Sisterhood

With a bit of last summer's sand in the pockets, the Traveling Pants and the Sisterhood that wears them embark on their 16th summer.
"Bridget: Impulsively sets off for Alabama, wanting to both confront her demons about her family and avoid them all at once.
"Lena: Spends a blissful week with Kostos, making the unexplainable silence that follows his visit even more painful.
"Carmen: Is concerned that her mother is making a fool of herself over a man. When she discovers that her mother borrowed the Pants to wear on a date, she's certain of it.
"Tibby: Not about to spend another summer working at Wallman's, she takes a film course only to find it's what happens off-camera that teaches her the most.

3. Girls in Pants; The Third Summer of the Sisterhood

The Pants first came to Tibby, Carmen, Lena and Bridget at the perfect moment. That is, when they were splitting up for the first time. It was two summers ago when they first worked their magic, and last summer when they shook up our lives once again. This summer, the story continues. Bridget is playing soccer for the summer and has a run-in with her heartbreak, Eric. Lena is taking an art class, but when her father finds out what she is drawing each day, he becomes infuriated. Carmen deals with troubles at home and with her mother’s new marriage, and she tries to start a relationship with a great new guy. Tibby prepares for film school and wonders why she has such a fondness for Brian. As the girls prepare for college, they are going to need the Pants more than ever as they’re heading off to start their real lives.

4. Forever in Blue; The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood

With unraveled embroidery and fraying hems, the Traveling Pants are back for one last, glorious summer.

Lena: Immerses herself in her painting and an intoxicating summer fling, fearing that the moment she forgets about Kostos will be the moment she sees him again.

Carmen: Falls under the spell of a sophisticated college friend for whom a theatrical role means everything and the heritage of the Pants means nothing.

Bridget: Joins a dig for an ancient city on the coast of Turkey and discovers that her archaeology professor is available in every way except one.

Tibby: Leaves behind someone she loves, wrongly believing he will stay where she has left him.

Join Ann Brashares's beloved sisterhood once again in a dazzling, fearless novel. It's a summer that will forever change the lives of Lena, Carmen, Bee, and Tibby, here and now, past and future, together and apart.

I've read them all cept for the fourth book. I remember the only reason I read the first one to begin with was because I had been seeing the priviews for the movie and thought "Wow. This looks pretty good!" And my mom bought me the book so I read it in a day. :]

My favorite character by far is Tibby. (Well, DUH she is! That's where I got my user name from! lol) That character reminds me a lot of myself. In most ways at least. lol

But yes, I really enojy this series of books. =]

Oh God Tibb, you have to read the fourth book! I love the way Ann Brashares wraps up the series. Somehow, I just wish there was more, but then again I don't. Four is a magic number, (at least for these books), and it's best to keep it that way. :D I really want to tell you about it, but I won't.

I've seen this movie and loved it, so I plan to read the series after I finish the series I'm currently reading. Right now my library has 3 copies of the second book, one copy of the fourth, and no copies of the other two. O.o Well, that's just great. It's been that way for a little while now. Hopefully by the time I'm ready for these, they'll have the first one.

Anyway, Tibby was my favorite character in the movie, but I liked them all. Had a feeling I would. I adore stories like this. :3

I just finished reading all 4 of these books [next time I go to the library, I'll get the 5th novel by Ann Brashares, "The Last Summer (of You and Me)."] And the "Keeping in Touch" book. I *LOVED* the series!
