my Parents are so evil hehe, iv been asking for a dog for around 6 years, they have always said when your brother grows up more, or one of us might get allergic.
Even when i was 11 she said "in around two years we will get one" now 5 years later nothing has happened.

Any one got any iders to make them want to get a dog or even persuade them.

The only thing I can think of is do some research about what dogs can give to a family, and tell them!

omg, sorry, man. its been almost THREE years since my fourteen year old german shepherd died. my dad just will not accept the idea to get one. my moms ready for a new one,its just my dad wont crack. im getting SO frustrated with this so i have no ideas

I know how ya feel mate. I WAITED MY WHOLE LIFE FOR A DOG, over 8 yrs! And I finally got one! YAY! I don't think that made you feel better though....

I have two dogs. But one of them is evil, haha. But, I think you should do what Sheba said and show them some good research about dogs online. Also, you should let your parents know that you will take care of the dog, feed it, walk it, etc. If your parents know this, you might be able to increase your chance of getting one, and make sure to tell them that you'll train it and disclipine it if it doesn't behave. Hope this helps. That way, your parents will know your serious about getting one.

As others have said, make sure that you do a lot of research, and make sure that your parents know that you are doing it. Do it whenever possible. Show them that you are committed to doing it, and maybe, just maybe, they will think that you would be able to handle a dog. Also, I warn you from personal experience, no matter how much you prepare, you will never truely be ready for a dog. And they do have certain needs that need to be taken care of. If you don't, you will probably regret it. But if you honestly believe that you are ready for the commitment, do your research, and make sure that you get a dog that fits your lifestyle.

You must think about how your might think it is disloyal to get a new dog. That may be one reason why he won't get another dog, to me, that is an understandible reason. Perhaps I am wrong though, I just thought it could be this because that's what alot of dog families tend to feel.


BlackLion----) Considering you are sixteen years old, you will soon have your own choices and money. There for, soon you could buy your own dog in a few years.

OR you can try doing extra things around the house, do research about dogs and maybe get a job so you could pay for the dog and his\her needs.^^

i am with a problem like that...
but i am just on a mounth on that, i do many researches and the dog that i want, the page says that him may have a hunter sprit and can kill little animals, i am afraid of some dog like that give a end with my mom birds, they live in a little cage, but also is dangeours...
but... i wantthis so much that i'm making many things...
today for example : i woke up something like 10 of morning to help my mom with some boring job, until 2 pm, i still exausted of work..., but maybe i can get my own dog by doing things like that.
my mom is the problem... by my dad...ok, by my sister...ok, by me... for sure,by my mom... she dont like the idea of take care of him/her, the "needs"... and we have a garden (imagine what she is think about the mix of a garden and a dog...).

but like i say:
a problem always has a solution

I begged and begged for a dog for a year and I finally got one, but I gave reasons why I wanted one, and I said I will help pay for it and did chores around the house. now I have a dog and she is so cute a distructive lol.
