Firstly, yes, a lot of things can go wrong. With this old computer I used to use it got completely wrecked and when we sent it to the computer people there were a heap of viruses and porn that had attached itself to files. Secondly, you should purchase the music you like and show them some respect.

Depends.

Avoiding the backdoor trojans and spyware files is one thing. Some are blatantly obvious. Others not.
I rarely use LimeWire, but having knowledge of what and what-not to download can save you some fun in the future.

Man it's all about buying CD's, between me and my bro we just have stacks and stacks of CD's, well over a hundred collected over the years

My friend said he has never had problems with it, I Icould get the songs I want from him. My pc is loaded with anti-virus software so I don't think much garbage could get through, hopefully not. Im still leery about using it though.

No.

P2P sharing isn't illegal, it's usually the content that is. LimeWire is 100% legal, like uTorrent, bittorrent, Kazaa, and all other P2P sharing programs. Why these programs get their discouragements is from illegal music downloads, piracy, warez, and viruses people constantly dump.

the software itself may not be illegal but I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find content both legal and worth downloading
