Dear all BS fans

What good wolf-related media do you know about that is out there? What I mean is anything, fictional or true about wolves that have not attacked humans, or at least not for a good reason.
It can be anything, documentaries, books, movies, cartoons, stuff on the Websites etc.

Please state what type they are (book, movie etc) and if they are true or fictional.

Here are my ones:

Balto movies (movie, duh)!
The Jungle Book (both)
Midnight’s sun (book)
The Wolfing (book)
Shrek (movies) mother wolf was good
A Man Among Wolves/the Wolfman (Documentary)
The Earth’s children series by Jean Auel, the Mammoth Hunters, the Plains of Passage, (books)

Call of the Wild and White Fang are two really amazing books

Call of the Wild is more about a dog though with White Fang being more orientated on a wolf

Here's one that I believe is extremely awesome:

The Sight

Ah, I'm at a loss as to who wrote it, as I can't think of it right now, but his last name is Christian-Davies, or something like that... I remember it was a two-name thing.

Anyway, it's about a pack of wolves, but it's really sad... lots of main characters die, but it's something you should read if you're looking for a story where wolves are the good guys.

Thanx Swords of the wolves, I got some reviews and links:

Review by: Quinster
age: 15

this book was great. Its about a she wolf named Larka who is born with the great gift of "the sight" were she can look into water and see the past and future and also look into the eyes of birds. I wont tell anymore as it would ruin it. This book was a great read and i found the storyline to be great. I just wish there were more pages. Ans this book was the book that made my little brother interested in reading that's how good it is. Move over Harry potter.

review by: Paula Rohrlick

In the biting cold of a Transylvanian winter, cubs are born into a wolf pack--cubs destined to play a vital role in the fulfillment of an ancient legend. Larka, born with a distinctive white coat, is gifted with the Sight, the ability to see through the eyes of others and to look into the past and into the future. She is stalked by the bitter, sly she-wolf Morgra, who seeks power and will do anything to achieve it. A human baby is stolen, and tragedies strike the wolf pack and threaten to tear it apart. But as the legend foretells, "only a family both loving and true" can triumph over the evil Morgra seeks to bring into being, and Larka's family at last manages to prevail. And in the end Larka offers "a vision of hope" for wolves and for humans, even though she loses her own life in a final struggle with Morgra.

This long, dark fantasy draws on tales and folklore of Romania and the Balkans, as Clement-Davies (author of the acclaimed Fire Bringer) explains in an author's note at the end. Readers who like Watership Down and fantasy sagas will appreciate this epic tale about wolves and its examination of issues of destiny, evil, blood lust, and loyalty.

Never Cry Wolf (book) is about the author getting sent to study/hunt wolves by some corporation to see if he can find a way to drive them away from a town. Instead, he found out what great creatures they really are.

My personal favorites are:

White Fang (fiction) (book) About a wolf-dog growing up.

Julie's Wolf Pack (fiction) (book) About a pack of wolves and the trials they go through in the wild. Parts of the book go into an eskimo girl's life.

I won't go into detail in case anyone ever decides to read them.

Have you ever considered reading these yet:
_ "Shunka, Life with an Arctic Wolf".
_ "Wolf Totem".
_ "Promise Of The Wolves"* by Dorothy Hearst.

The one with star is probably the best I've read so far. :)

"The wolves of time" series by William Horwood (If I remember right...) is really good but is aimed at more adult readers.

I've got 3 books based on wolves but don't remember the author...2 of them are called "The silver wolf" and "Wolf King" and those are really good too.
