All right, these topics are gorwingly annoying. Do they even count as
rants? Not i my opinion...
But, the topics are: "Have you ever *walked* into the shout box and been ignored? I have, it happened to me today. I'm sick of it... blah blah blah pointless pointless blah bleh blah." To me, this is the same as spam. -_-
But; the thing is, these are fairly new members, or they're not around a lot. So, you expect to be accepted spit-spot? The world has to revolve around them being noticed as soon as possible?
I don't think so, kiddies.
Now, given they talk to you and then "suddenly shun you", you might have a reason to be upset. But, freaking out and ranting when you say "Hello!" and no one replies? Nuh-uh, ranting about it will only make people think you're whiney, uncompatable, and really not worth their time. So, by ranting about the issue, you're only getting yourself ignored more.
But to be honest, I'm the person who doesn't care to hear whining about being ignored. I try to talk to everyone I can; but, I can't hold fifty different conversations just so one person doesn't get all moody because s/he is ignored.
All you have to do is talk politely, be nice (in other words), and talk in conversations you're welcome upon. Given, there will be some conversations one should avoid. Those are known when seen, however, though some people just don't see those hints. Like, something about being dumped. Leave the comfort to their friends, not a lot of people want a stranger's comfort in such situation.
On the internet, you have to work for a "status", to gain friends. Though, some will be like "Do you want to be my friend?" before they can spell your username correctly. However, this is an "easy" ticket to gain friends. But, it can work out if you get to know each other (the best way[s] you can on the internet) better. But most likely, you'll be, more or less, acquaintences.
The better friends are people you can be compatable with; like
Night,
Tingi (Balto Sis),
[[LivyLou]] and
I. We may not be "ZOMG YOUR MY BEST FRIEND!!!!1" friends, but we help each other when we can, give each other crits, and of course,
be there for each other. I know I take a bundle of my issues to Tingi for help, and even though she's a little over a year younger than me, she's still great at giving me advice and comfort when I need it most. That's what friends are for, after all. Social comfort, trust, support, and so on.
And true; your E-friends will most likely be a fan of your art. Like, Tingi and I are uber-fans of Night and Livy, while Tingi is a great fan of mine. So, is it a shame to meet good friends through art? No, it's a good way to do it, I think. Rather than talk to any random person to get noticed.
But all have to remember; this is the internet and not everything is as it seems. To make "good friends" online, it involves a risk, a trust leap. Not just "you're my friend" and nothing beyond.
So, don't rant about being ignored or having no friends; bare with it, be friendly, and hope for the best. That's the way I see it. >_>
