Aniu is balto's mother. And yeah it goes without saying that they look clearly different but there will be a lot of sceptacism because Balto 1 and 2 had different animators. This is talked about best by this guy http://fluke.theicecave.org/whitewolf.shtml

Well really, everyone looked different in Wolf Quest, especially Jenna, so appearance doesn't prove a whole lot. Regardless, since the animation teams were different in each movie, I think that the animation team just happened to base Aniu off of the white wolf. No actual connection.

Yes, Aniu is the White Wolf, Phil Weinstein said it himself in an e-mail he sent to Steet.

Hard to argue against that kind of evidence... lol
They made character connections really hard to notice in the sequels. If Jenna's name was never mentioned in Wolf Quest, it'd be impossible to tell if it was her!

I say that the White Wolf in Balto was Aniu. I think it was just the different animation.

Can I just remind you something? There were different animators in the films!! They tried their best to make them the same. In the first film, they made her as tall as possible because she's an Artic wolf. During a blizzard in winter (where it was the end of autumn in WQ) the fur would be a different colour. Also, if a part of your body is REALLY cold, then it'll turn purple or blue. In Balto, her eyes weren't covered in fur (plus, it wasn't purple around her eyes, it was light grey). Finally, Aniu is pure white meaning no markings (unless the animators made a mistake which they did a lot during the film). To be honest, I don't think some of your evidence really adds up or makes sense.
1.Height.
Different animator's have different styles. They wouldn't be able to draw exactly the same. And in Balto 2, Aniu was sitting down.
2.Eye colour.
Aniu's eye colour was gold/yellow, just like the white wolf's.
3.Fur Colour.
In the original, the white wolf was snow white, Aniu in Balto 2 was greyish.
4.Fur.
Aniu looked groomed because that's the way the animator's draw. Having your fur messed up in the wind isn't evidence because everyone's hair/fur gets messy in the wind.
5.Markings.
They had the same markings. And the white wolf's patches were only slightly darker than it's normal fur colour, just like Aniu's was slightly darker than her fur.

Really, they don't have to be the same wolf but they could. Arctic wolves can't really have much difference between them because they're pur white.

Aniu is the white wolf that howled with Balto when he fell down the cliff.

Dont forget that Aniu is also a ghost form of herself in Balto one. But in Balto two she or another white wolf is all solid. I too believe that Aniu is in both films but to be right about it I'm not sure if I'm right :?

In B2 she vanished in a cloud of mist.

Doesn't sound solid to me.
