Lately I've noticed (and I'm sure you have too) that there have been a lot of so-called 'rants' that are about two or three sentences long (or even less).
Also, it seems that they have either nothing to do with ranting, or they start questioning the rules.
Now, I may not have ranted before, but I've read more than enough rants to realise that in order for a rant to work, it must have a number of things:

1. It should be more than three lines long. It should be at least a five-line paragraph (maybe even more). If you can't find anything to write about, please, just don't write it. It's not really a rant if it's just a sentence. Don't post here for the sake of it.

2. It shouldn't try to question the rules. I've seen rants that are complaining about 'Why can't I type in all caps?''Why can't I talk in slang?''Why can't I swear?' etc. (Most are just one sentence). And I have one answer to all of those - it's because Steet said so. When you click I Agree, it means that you agree with the rules and terms of service, and should therefore NOT try to question them. If you have a problem with that, then please just don't come here anymore.

3. It should actually be a rant about the site or its members. It seems that some people here cannot read and post topics on the rant board that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the site, or sometimes nothing to do with ranting for that matter. This annoys me greatly, especially since this is not what the rant board is for. Take your personal life somewhere else please.

4. It should have some thought put into it (this kinda coincides with no.1). You must have a real issue with the site or its members, something that is actually bothering you.

Next time you have a rant about something, please put some thought into it. Trust me, if you do, you will be taken seriously.
Because sometimes, I think that some members are just posting here to get attention, or just for the sake of it, which is not a good thing.

yes, I agreee with you, people seem to try and take as little effort as they can when making a rant, what with the rants with one sentences, misspellings, and bad prompts. (this also goes for posts in other sections as well)

I don't know about everyone else, but I think this topic should be stickied.

If it is a rant you must explain why you are ranting, and reasons for why you are right. You should give evidence, without pointing names, to back up your rant. It must be a considerble length of at least five lines. You must also make sure you are clear too others. Make sure you type properly and check spelings and punctuation. Your sentences must begin with capitals. Type proper words, no slang..or even worse:

lyk talikn lyk nu SMS lyk relee SUX. Woo agrees? If u don't u sux 2

It really gets on my nerves.
