I have changed my mind and totally agree with Balto The Magnificent. and owned by a Golden Retriever.

I should have thought about the subject more, I believed that before I posted this message but forgot. my apologies to all animal lovers, BS members, conservationists, animal welfareists and animals.

No.

If a wild animal attacks someone, what's the use in trying to hunt it down and kill it? It's not like it is going to be posing a threat to humans, as it should live in its own habitat, away from humans (if it lives near humans, then it should be caught and released in another area).
It'd be a waste of time. Plus, most wild animals will attack. It happens.

I'd love to say that OwnedByAGoldenRetriever is right.. But then I would be lying. 99% of the animals that kill a people become acosomed to the taste of human blood. Would you really want an animal like that running around? They aren't afraid of people and won't hesitate to attack. I hate saying it, but I do agree that if an animal kills someone, they have to be found and euthanized. EXPECIALLY if they have killed more than once.

No they shouldn't be euthinized. They kill to protect themselves. We sometimes kill to protect ourselves but thats just off subject anyway since we sometimes kill to protect ourselves should we be euthinized big fat N-O! So the wild animals shouldn't be euthinized! I made my point.

Actually they don't always kill to protect themselves. There are tons of cases every year of a wild animal - bears expecially - just killing. Why? No one knows the acutal reason, but it is not always for self defense. And once an animal has killed a human, the only way to keep other humans in the area safe is to kill the animal. Once they taste human blood, they won't just quit. That's not just some myth.

You are all missing the bigger picture so far. Blinded by your love for animals. Well guess what. I love animals, too. But I know that you can't let your emotions control what you think. I've read plenty about this that I know what decision is right. People don't just kill the animals that have killed people for the heck of it. They do it to keep others safe.

All of you that have posted so far, then, are saying if a wild animal killed a family member or a best friend for no reason, you wouldn't want that animal killed? Because that is basicly what you are all saying.

Maybe educate yourselves a little bit about animal attacks before trying to make a comeback toward me. It might just do you some good.

There's no point, because chances are, if a wild animal attacked someone, it wouldn't be healthy and so probably will die soon anyway.

Definately depends, if the animal is suffering and its chances of living are extremly slim only with a major surgery or something like that then yes.

It depends. If the animal constantly tries to attack somebody, then it should be put down. Nothing's more dangerous then a healthy wild animal that has no fear in humans, except for maybe other humans.

The only minor exception would be sharks. Most of the time they mistake us for their prey.

The real issue here is: do you believe that euthanasia should happen because an animal is guilty and aware of its 'crimes', or because it is dangerous though not aware of it's crimes.
If you believe animals would have to be guilty, no euthanasia will take place, since animals are oblivious to the idea of 'guilt' or 'crimes' (much like insane or mentaly retarded people cannot be imprisoned [though they will be admitted in a mental institution] for harming others since they do not understand they did somthing wrong).
If, however, you base yourself on the danger an animal represents, you will have to kill it once it has attacked humans, since it has proven to be dangerous (and will continiue to be dangerous since it has become acustomed to human blood).

Of course not! That totally barbaric and has no sort of sense! I mean, would you kill one of your kind? (You know, dogs, wolves and other mammals like cetaceans, elephants and most primates don't do that) Imagine if we solved all our problems by killing. Soonly, there would be no people on earth (yes, people kill each other. It is called murder. Murder occurs far more often than deaths caused by apex predators like tigres or sharks)! Besides, most animals that sometimes cause human deaths are endangered, and many people (including me) don't want to live in a world without tigres, elephants, pandas or lions. And sometimes, individuals that are euthanized are mothers or would be mothers! So I only have one thing to say to those that agree with that: you simply aren't human.
