Well, since I'm on my work experience I'm just curious..

Where are you going / did you go for work experience?

I'm not sure whether they do this in other countries but here, we have one or two weeks (two for my school) where we go to spend time well.. working.. in a workplace. Obviously. I managed to get a placement at a boarding kennels at a garden center.

It's pretty good so far. This was my first day. I liked walking and feeding the dogs but when you sit around waiting for the owners to arrive it's soooo boring. There were some really sweet dogs there. Didn't like the white German Shepherd though.. he was really beautiful but had an unpredictable temper.

So.. yeah.

All the jobs I've had so far have been on-site training jobs. The job that I'm really after (short route truck driver) will require me to go to a school to get me a CDL. I'm also shooting to get a hazmat endorsment to allow me to haul tankers, explosives and flammable chemicals, allowing me to do just about anything.

I've done a fair bit of work experience in prospective trades and alike.

20 week pre-vocational course with the Australian Technical College
14 days with a shop fitter
5 days with a carpenter
5 days with a sign writing shop (Where I subsequently got 5 weeks work)

And didn't choose any... =B

i would love to work with dogs and animals like you do...thats why i was going to work for the ASPCA. Its where animal cops bring back abused and neglected animals to a hospital to be cared for before being adopted.

Oh, it's not my actual job. I'm still at school, we just have 2 weeks where we go to a workplace for a while.

Yeah, I definetely want to work with animals when I leave school/education in general. I thought about joining the RSPCA but my mum disagreed and said "You won't like it, you see some horrible sights" but really, I'd like to help prevent animal cruelty. Oh well.

I went to the Cats Protection League for a week, it was great fun, I'm gonna go to Citizens Advice Bureau soon too.

You wanna be a suicide jockey?

Trucking would be a great experience. That's something I would probably do as a transition between jobs.

That's awesome; better brush up on your CB lingo!

As for myself, I'm a pharmaceutical assistant. Although I don't want to be, it's something for me to do until I can get a job in graphic design.

I'm not gonna make being a suicide jockey my goal, but some cargo requires it. CB Lingo? CBs suck...I'm all ham radio, dude.
