Yes, I like them. I read about them and apparently they are extremely loyal dogs and usually are mild tempered. Although, any dog can lose his\her temper, no matter what breed.

Anyway, yes, I do like Akitas. I like the way they look too.^^

No... Shiba Inus are "mini Akitas". Akita Inu is the full name for the Akita, but as Inu means Dog, most people just call it the Akita.

But yeah, I like Akitas. I wouldn't want to own one, though, not the sort of temperament I like, or the looks. We all have our opinions, though, and some people here might really love Akitas ^^

When I got Archie there was one at the shelter. Lovely dogs but personally I prefer Shiba Inus. They're like miniature Akitas. ^.^

They are very loyal and dependable dogs, and I adore how they look and act.

I heard a story on "Animal Miracles" about an Akita (I don't know the dog's name):

There was a college professor who owned an Akita; every day, the man and his dog would go to the train station and the man would leave for the college, the dog waiting at the station until the owner came home. Every day, the dog would wait. Not leaving for food nor water until the master came back to take him home.

One day, the professor went to the college and had a fatal heart attack while teaching, and never came home. The dog was so loyal, he waited days for the owner to return.

But, he never did, and the dog died at the station, waiting loyally for his master's return.

o_0 I mis-read the message. I thought she meant the small Akitas. But like I said before, I mis-read it.

I still love Akitas. My dog is have Akita.

If they pull a sled. There were mainly bred to fight. But now that is illegal. And don't argue about what they were bred to do.
