Do you write your fanfics down before you type them or not? I write them down, it really helps you proofread your work and you can read or over it as many times as you want and a lot of times you catch things that are misspelled or a word repeated twice.

Well, since I'm still in school, I have a system that seems to work for me:
My stories often start in my spiral notebook (dedicated to writing and nothing else), and I write as often and for as long as I can during each day.
When I have the time, I transfer the writings in my notebook to my computer and check for errors before continuing from where my notebook left off.
The next day, I'll pick up where I stopped on my computer (or maybe I'll rewrite a passage or two) and the whole cycle starts again.
So yes, I guess I do write before I type, and it helps me tremendously.
It all depends. For longer fics, I will begin to write it out in a notebook. But I mostly write it on the computer. Once I finish a chapter, I'll go back and proof read. But hey, my system works for me.

I like to write my main points about characters, plotline etc: before I start on paper but I always write the full story on the computer because it's easier and I can type quicker then I can write on paper.
I always wtrite a "rough draft" of my story in my notebook. Then i type it on my computer and proofread it. But sometimes I'll do character bios and other various story ideas.
