I've recently been on the shoutbox maybe about ten minutes ago. I was really annoyed and quite disturbed with what I saw.

People were discussing their problems and ranting about life casually(I have no problem with that). Then, someone put in a comment about her\his lover that was killed and said that it really didn't matter because he\she wasn't the best lover a person could have.

How horrible is that?? I mean, the way that person simply shrugged it off so disrespectfully. Disgusting. The worst part is, this member's story most likely is a lie considering the, "Eh, whatever." attitude this person displayed about the event...

This isn't the first time I've noticed obviously untrue stories in the shoutbox. I know it's going to happen all the time because this is the internet and you never truely know who it is you're talking to...BUT, I am still allowed to rant about it.

One of the most annoying stories are the ones who don't hold up at all.

Example :

ppl1 : My dog's lung's are infected because I dunno...

ppl2 : OH! I'm so sorry! I hope that clears up.

ppl1 : Thanks

A few minutes later in the convo...

ppl2 : What's wrong with your dog again?

ppl1 : She has ceizures sometimes

ppl2 : Hey wait didn't you say something about her lungs..?

ppl1 : NO I NEVER SAID THAT! I should know she's my dog!!1!1

I think THAT is the worst...*ack*


Have you seen this happen in the shoutbox? If so, how did it make you feel? I'm curious to know.

To those who "play pretend" I would really like to know why.

Person: My dog is dying
Kari: Then spend time with her
Person: Shes hurting badly and we're putting her down sometime soon

And then they started talking about their dog and said it wasn't hrut or anything -_-

I totaly agree. I mean.. if you want to feed people lies, at least learn how to lie the right way for God's sake! Even then... Just don't.

I also hate when people come on and they say how their dog is really sick or someone in their family just died. And someone tells them to go spend time with their pet or family or something like that and they always say they don't want to. Hm. Let's think. If your dog is dying, what would a GOOD owner do? OH I KNOW! Go spend time with it...!! And if a family member just died, what do you do...? OMG! You spend time with your family. Because honestly, I don't think anyone on the ShoutBox will care unless it's like.. one of your best friends. Even then, you don't talk about it on the ShoutBox. Take it to PMs for all I care.

Mmm...I have an idea. I don't know if it would work fine or not, but maybe I could do something to hide the messages of the members you don't want to read.
For example, you don't like someone, then you block his/her messages and you won't see them until you unblock him/her.

One of the counterparts would be that it may make the discussions more confused, because someone who isn't hidden may be talking to someone hidden.
I don't know, that's just an idea.

Hmmm yeh...It would be hard. But, maybe you could do a test. Leave the blocking system up for a day or two then, remove it and take a poll to see what members think about it. Well, all in all, it's your choice Steet.

that first thing was pretty horifying, never seen anything like your example before, but in real life, people do it, its VERY frustrating.

Well, the thing is that I don't want to spend 2 hours coding something like that, to remove it one day or two later.

They have something like this on WolfHome. The first time someone came on that the other people I was talking to had blocked, it was a tad confuising. But it might work here.

Yep,that's all they're looking for attention.
