I use a Creative Zen V plus 2GB MP3 player which I bought a little earlier on this year.
What do you use?

On a regular usage of sitting around, driving, or just wanting to listen to music not off my notebook, I use a 5th generation iPod Video (60G). Of course, I don't use MP3 format, I use M4A and AAC Mainstream lossless formats.
I also have a 4th generation iPod Photo, Color, and a 1st generation iPod Mini, but I use those primarily for test subjects when it comes to the land of scripting with Linux (no... I'm not using iPL, just using an alternative homemade kernel boot file and working to improve movie framerate with the use of XviD compressors)

Interesting, I wondered how OS specific devices port to open source OSes like Linux.
Loss less eh? I wish I could be foobar2000 has a lot of good loss-less format conversions but my MP3 player is to small and I can only fit four or so FLAC albums.
Isn't Audiophilia great? =B

haha, I got an 5th Generation White 30G Ipod Video, and it breaks so much...I want a new MP3, but that costs money...something I'm rather short on... But anyways, I want a Zune if I had a choice. They're awesome.

iPod Linux is the easiest method to go if you know 'little' (key word) about open-sourced operating systems and firmware, but I choose to use my own sources (bah! iPL developers always ignore my suggestions for improvement anyways...)
And yes, Audiophilia is good.

Very good point. I don't like my Ipod Video simply because it's to big and the amount it akes for nomral settings to appear in color annoys me. I can't even fit most of my songs because of the amount of space it takes.

Heard of a thing called a harddrive? Every harddrive has a period where it needs to boot and data needs to be extracted into physical memory (RAM), so it's not really the iPod's problem.
iPod Nano, Shuffle, and Mini as well as other MP3 players below the size of 8GB used flash memory. If that 2.87 seconds of wait time is really that serious on an iPod Video or any other MP3 player with a harddrive, then go to flash memory that will eventually burn itself out in about 1,600-2,500 flashes. Your decision.

Probably never heard of it before, but im, right now at least, using an H10 modle iriver. 1GB.
As soon as i get enough money, which hopefully will be this next paycheck, im buying an 80GB iPod Video.

They do everything an iPod can, but they cost less, have a bigger screen, and can send songs and pictures to other Zunes nearby. THANK YOU! I'm not the only one that doesn't like iPods! The Zune just came out recently and is still costs less than a basic iPod Video! I've seen it low as 209.99$!
Good point, Doby! Great minds(and snowboarders) think alike... XD. Zunes truly are great. Besides, I never got used to the iPod's click wheel....
