From what I've seen, not that many people know about this game.
What it is is a fun and funny card game that plays in an RPG style, sploofing other, far more serious, games like Dungeon & Dragons and even MMORPG games like World of Warcraft. This game is purely just to be funny...
But before I go on any further, take a look at the box:

For those of you who can't quite see it, it says:
Munchkin: Kill the Monsters, Steal the Treasure, Stab your Buddy
If that doesn't say anything about the game then I don't know what does.
As I've said, this game is an RPG card game played by 3 to 6 players. Everyone has a character, human to start, and they're in a dungeon. They bust down doors in search of treasure and fight monsters to raise their only stat, their level. The first character to reach level 10 (or 20, if you're really having a blast) wins.
Simple, right? That's not all.
What makes the really stand out from other games, and makes it really addicting, the wide assortment on items and even wider combinations with those items. Could you imagine a character wearing the "Helmet of Courage" (a horned helmet with no eye holes whatsoever), the "Boots of Butt-kicking" (a pair of boots with over enlarged spikes on the toes), swinging around the "Hammer of Kneecapping" (a giant hammer used on kneecaps) downing monsters.
Well, that was a bit too much but you get the idea. And it's not just the items themselves that are funny but the descriptions of "Bad Stuff" (things that happen for not defeating a monster) on the monsters are also very funny. Take Squidzilla for example.
Bad Stuff: You are grabbed, slimed, crushed, and gobbled. You are dead, dead, dead. Any questions?
Monsters and Treasures are covered... now on to the last part of the title, which is where the real charm of the game is.
Within the two decks of cards you get, there are a lot of cards that are designed to be used on the other players and completely mess them up.
Like, say your friend is beating Squidzilla. Suddenly you use a card that automatically changes the level of anyone to level 1 on your friend. Now Squidzilla is beating your friend and he gets the "Bad Stuff" instead of getting the 4 treasures that Squidzilla guards.
This game come in many forms, each with access to different cards (races, items, and monsters).
This one,
Munchkin, is the original, based off of a fantasy midevil world. It has Race cards like Elf and Dwarf. There are tree expansions to this one:
Munchkin 2 Unatural Axe,
Munchkin 3 Cerical Errors, and
Munchkin 4 The Need for Steed.
Another version is
Star Munchkin which is based off of space movies like Star Wars. I can't remember exactly what races it has but I know there's Android and a cat people race. There's only one expansion to this one:
Star Munchkin 2 The Clown Wars.
There's also
Munchkin Bites! which has Werewolf and Vampire...
and a lot more like a Wild West one... it just goes on.
But he beauty of it all is that you can take two or more base set and their expansions and
mix them, widening the game to enormous sizes... and decks.

Sorry for the super long explanation. It just such a different game from all the others I've seen.
Anyways, I play it with friends all the time.
I own Munchkin 1, 2, 3, 4 and Munchkin Bites! 1.
How about you?
