Something in the first one is magical.
The animation was beautiful. Each and every single charecter were lovable. (Steele an Exception)

They used each charecter just right. Not drowning them into the movie just making them a nuisence. Each charecter had meaning. And wasn't left out of the movie....or there just to be there.

The love interest.....everything down to the voices.
The first one is UNTOUCHABLE.

But something is ripped away from these charecters in the 2nd and 3rd films.
Something sucks the sweetness out of it. And muk and luk and boris are just annoying. But the tyrant of them all is alue.
The animation just went downhill. charecters were too much reused.
But the animation and lack of creativity just really made it stink.
(The spiritual crap wasn't needed either)

The 3rd one was a bit better. But the naughty xxx female goose wasn't needed. "I'm the goose with the juice"? Do I smell profanity?
But it still lacked the love and playfulness of Jenna,
the light in baltos eyes.

It just isn't the same. It all lacks feeling. And emotion that was packed in the first film.

Well, read up on the film's history a bit. The film flopped hard so they really didn't try with the sequels. It's a pretty sad story to read.

I agree with you. Balto is within my top three favorite movies of all time. The sequels, not so much.

The orininal movies are aways the best. The second movie was ok, but the animation sucked. The animation was a little better in Balto 3 but it still sucked and the story line was so borring.

I say it once and I'll say it again, the first oneis the best, they should have sticked to it but no they just had to make sequels xD

And yea.. I definetely agree with you. The originals are usually much better. The first film had a unique and special feeling of magic to it, and could really touch your heart. It was jam-packed with emotion, amusement, excitement, suspence and just... pure magic. It didn't have ANY annoying, stupid kiddy songs, the animation was smooth and brilliant [even tho teh animators screwed up on background characters alot, unfortunately] and the plotline is... unlike anything I've ever seen before... and is just my kinda' film! XD

The 2nd one was... don't let me even GO there! I'll sum EVERYTHING up in one word: CRAP

The 3rd was good, I enjoyed it. Animation is still pretty crap, but is quite enjoyable, when you compare it to WQ's. -shudders- And Kodi is MUCH more likeable to Aleu... whatever the hell that whiny bratty thing was. XD The plotline is also very good and MUCH more clever than WQ's. -shudders again- XD But Stella... I HATED her...

It's surprising that nobody has mentioned the music. The music in the third one was the worst IMO. Remember when Balto, Muk, and Luk fell and were sliding down the ice slope? It was sad to hear that clown music right then, especially after the soundtrack in the original was so great!

I find him extremely likeable. He is the PERFECT villian for the perfect movie - everything about him is awesome. The movie wouldn't be HALF as good without Steele, so he has an awful lot of potential

Good villains are intended to be disliked though, aren't they?

I must say, I agree. Because that takes away more plot and love interest.
