Am I the only one who's seen this movie? From what I'm aware of, it was an obscurely-seen movie like Balto. It was actually put into production in the late 60's but not finished until the early 90's because of certain issues.

We happened to see this one in theaters and got it on tape when it was released. The plot isn't very deep at all though, and certain characters are annoying. The main thing that rescues it from mediocrity is it's innovative art style. The entire movie looks like an abstract painting from some old-age, famous artist. It truly tests your imagination.

The thief provides some of the cleverest comic relief out of any movie I've seen. He continuously makes witty references to modern-day stuff, even though this movie takes place during the age of the arabian knights. He actually never truly talks. All of his dialogue is his thoughts.

The other characters are pretty cliche though. The cobbler isn't so cliched to the point where it gets annoying, but the main character who drags the story down is the princess. She's your typical happy-go-lucky, singing beauty who just wants to help someone. Been there, done that.

I saw it. The whole point of the movie is to admire the art of it, not the movie itself. The Esher style chase scene was a work of genius. Also the machine at the end was stunning.

A movie should not be all about visuals. Sure, you watch a movie, but you also experience what the characters go through. Really though, the plot is acceptable.

Esher-style? Was that with the black and white shapes and stuff? You're right, that was indeed very creative.

I liked that scene because of the thief :P Actually, any scene with the thief was very amusing.

I heard of it but sounds too boring with the commercials

It's not the best movie ever, but I'd highly recommend that you at least rent it.
